Re: Clicky poll: Palin on Fox

  • I can understand why there was a lot of buzz about her when she was first announced as McCain's running mate.  She's from a state we don't pay a lot of attention to so she was the mystery unknown.  Plus she's pretty and seems to stand for family values (in that she has a family, I guess).

But now, I think she's pretty much showed herself to be ridiculous.  Who walks away from their governing job unless it's under siege and scandal?  In what way does this make her a responsible person we want to listen to?

And she doesn't take global warming or polar bear extinction seriously, so I think she's slightly crazy.

Well, a lot of people don't take global warming seriously, sadly.  Still, I think she's more than slightly crazy. I'm one of the minority who had heard of her before she was announced as McCain's running mate. As gov. of AK, she was the enemy of the cause most near and dear to my heart.  She was surrounded by scandal when she became running mate, and all that died away before she resigned. IIRC, she led people to believe it was to concentrate on her (dysfunctional) family. But that clearly wasn't the case with the book and now this.  As a political mind, she's below sub-par. As a woman, she's an embarrassment. I would only listen to her if I needed a reason to be annoyed.  Fox News already had a bad enough reputation, but this just made it worse in my opinion.

  • We were talking about this on my local yesterday.  Someone suggested that this was giving her just enough rope to hang herself so to speak.  With the increased attn, it is only a matter of time before she makes a big enough ass out of herself that even Republicans don't want to associate with her and she will go away.  Likely?  Maybe not but here's hoping.

  • This is going to make me sound uninformed but I hate the news in general.  The only thing I can stand to watch is the local news while I get ready in the morning which is basically a repeat of traffic and weather over and over again.  I pretty much just rely on DH to keep me informed if its important.  So the fact that Sarah Palin is now going to be on Fox is news to me but I dont have a problem with it.
  • I'm an Independent, and I could care less. Both sides spew off a bunch of nonsense.  CNN/ MSNBC are known for being extremely Liberal.  Fox is known for being extremely conservative.  Until someone is impartial, I watch both, make a Venn Diagram, and take what comes out in the middle.  Generally those are the true facts by which I can base my decisions.

I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.

    A girl can dream.

I am just amazed that with the success of her book, she was going touring and they would interview all of these people outside (so you knew they were Palin fans) and they were saying things like "She is just the best thing ever. She's so honest and straightforward and exactly what this country needs."

Really?  Just straightforward?  So I could run down dogs when I see them in the street and be a cough syrup addict, but I'm straightforward.  Should I be president?

They're obviously pointing out the good stuff about her. I mean, when Obama was running, none of the liberals pointed out HIS flaws, either.  It was all just the "good" stuff.  No one bothered to mention that he has never proven he's a citizen of the US, no one accused him of lying, etc.  The liberals only mentioned what they liked about him.  I believe it's the same in this case for Palin supporters.
