Wow, Avatar was so good!

DH and I went to see Avatar last night and our theater was only showing it in 3D.  I expected to like the movie, but seeing it in 3D made it unbelievable.  It's true when all the reviews say it's the most visually stunning movie you've ever seen.

  • Think it would be good even if you aren't into that kind of movie--just for the visuals?

We're on the fence with seeing it.

Absolutely.  It's so different from any other movie I've ever seen.

  • Great-we might actually have another movie date night in one month!
  • ::butting in:: Agreed!! Lori, you will love it! It's got something for everyone: action, romance, political issues, fantasy, it's great! Definitely see it in 3D.

hmmmm, maybe I will give in and see it with hubby, I'm just not into the whole 3d thing though. . .I SHOULD be the good wife and see it.

  • Honestly, I am into sci-fi and the romance was still my favorite part. See it!
  • I thought it was incredible. The story, although was very similar to Pocahontas like people say, reeled me in (although some of the dialogue was cheese-tastic.. typical James Cameron). But the real stunner was the visuals -- some of the animation was so beautiful I felt moved to tears at times. I felt like it was one of those movies I'll remember where I saw it in 10 years because it's will be such a milestone in cinema.
  • I LOVED it, and I hate war movies.  I loved the visuals, and even the "cheese-tastic" as Twink so rightly put it story.  And I normally hate those type of stories, but its all different when you throw in a healthy dose of sci-fi.

I actually loved some the cheesetastic dialogue . . . (SPOILERS COMING) like the scene where she said he got to choose a woman and he said she had to choose him too . . . my feminist heart melted.
