As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

I LOVE Capital One

So last month I lost track of my cc bill because of the holidays and travel and just general absent minded stupidity.  I paid it one day late.  Capital One charged me a $39 late fee and then an interest charge almost the same size.  OMG...  Seriously!?!?!  I couldn't believe my stupidity was going to cost me $75.  I knew it was my fault, but I thought I'd try to do something about it.  So when I got my bill this month I called them and spoke to two people.  (The first guy said that he could only undo the late fee, which I would have totally accepted because it was my fault anyway, but then I asked to speak to someone about why my interest rate is so high since it caused the huge finance charge, and that guy ended up taking that charge off too.)   SO NICE!  I never pay late, and I couldn't believe how much they penalize you.  I went and paid my new bill right away.  But how awesome are they that they are willing to take care of good customers like that!  Totally made me happy.

  • I just had the same thing happen to me.  I usually get an email reminding me to pay but I never received one.  So I went on the website to look and it was due the day before I checked!  So I paid it right away but it took a day to clear.  I'm hoping I don't get late fees or interest.  I pay mine off every month so I'm wondering what will happen.  I haven't seen anything yet and I've never paid late so I'm hoping I don't get a charge and/or they take the charge off if I do.  I hope I'm as lucky as you!

  • That is really good! It's so rare to hear about a company taking care of it's customers. Sad that it's rare.....but yay for getting a real nice person!

  • I'm a fan too- had my CO Visa forever, and have had good customer service.

  • So I just got my statement today and it did have the late charge and interest fees on it.  Hopefully, when I call tomorrow I can get them removed.  They should see I'm a good customer and never had a late payment before - plus I paid it in full the SECOND I found out it was late.  An entire 2 days late, geez!

    I had a similar blunder with my online bill-pay (I don't get paper bills, because I Always lose them). I realized around 5 pm the night before this months' payment was due, that I hadn't already set it up. So I had to activate an Express payment, and it was nerve-wracking! I'm normally on top of those things, but this month has been a doozy...
