When is NASCAR on TV? Like, is it on at a general time? How long do the races run?
I was thinking Sunday afternoons? I'm wondering about March.
I'm trying to plan a party and the in-laws have an obsession with NASCAR, which I might actually be able to use to my advantage (like so that they try to leave on time instead of staying an extra 8 hours.. yes not kidding!).
Re: NASCAR question
Typically they start in the 12-2ish time frame. That's an east coast race though. You'd want to check the schedule for any west coast, or middle of the country races, which, in March, there tend to be alot of since there is warmer weather in CA, Vegas, Texas than in NC, Virginia, etc. Also, there might be a break week in there, there also tend to be more of those early on in the season than in the middle of summer too, for weather and travel purposes.
As for how long, that depends on the length (mile-wise) of the race, but I'd say 4ish hours probably. If they are intense fans, then they want to see the pre-race talking and the post-race analysis and all that, so maybe 5 hours total. If you check nascar.com it will list the schedule and should list all start times, as they are all set in the fall of the previous year. Of course, they are subject to rain delays and whatnot too, but it will give you the planned start time of the race.

The Daytona 500 is Feb 14th ! It is the first big race. The races are for the most part every Sunday. They usually begin around 1:00 ! The can run anywher from three to five hours depending on rain delays, red flags, cautions, etc. There are a few key races during the year that are at night. ( usually Sat. night ). They only have three Sundays off... Easter and Mother's Day being two of them.
You best bet is to go to Nascar.com and look at the race schedule. ( I use to live in the south and became a fan back them..... LOL ) !
The joys of teaching!
