Do you and/or DH talk in your sleep?

My DH says a word or two once in a great while... and SIL's husband has said some mighty odd things, but nothing like this guy:

This was posted over on the bump and I thought I should share the hilarity Smile

Re: Do you and/or DH talk in your sleep?

  • Embarrassing as it is to admit, I talk in my sleep.  My mom always got a kick out of it and would encourage it by trying to coax me to say more by having little conversations with me.

  • DH will say a random word or two very rarely and he tells me I do the same. DH does alot of jerking and kicking or arm waving etc in his sleep but it's only right as he's falling asleep. Once he's out it stops. I am always on the lookout so I don't get a black eye out of it. Even the dog knows to stay away from him until he's in a deep sleep, then she will go and cuddle next to him HA

  • Yes, and sometimes I scare the crap out of poor DH. Like the time I bolted upright in bed, shook him awake, and said "Watch out for the snake!"

I've done stuff like that many times. Good thing he doesn't have a heart condition.

    I wrote this!
  • I'm so bad that dh ends up in the spare bed many nights.  I yell, say things, twitch, & move all over.  He's told me that I wake him and the dogs up and sometimes scare the dogs.  I guess it's revenge for him hogging the bed & pillows!!  My sister talks in her sleep too.

My husband talks in his sleep - and I totally coax him to say more and more by having conversations with him. They are hilarious! What's more funny is when he is still asleep but realizes that I am totally making fun of him, he gets angry, but doesn't quite snap out of the "dream" either.

My DH once sat up in bed, shook me awake and started telling me, "hurry, get up, the man at the door is angry" - freaked me out because I thought he was serious . . . then not even 30 seconds after I stood up he laid down, and said, "don't worry about it".

  • I have at times and like a few others my mom would try to get me to say more. My DH does talk in his sleep and i also try to make sense of it and start a conversation. He also makes kissing noises in his sleep. It was really bad one of the first nights in our new house and finally i peeked over at him and noticed he was asleep but still making the noise.

While I was still living at home my dad fall asleep in his chair every once in awhile. The one night my mom and I were watching a movie and he fell asleep, then about 30 mins later he started saying all these numbers. We kept asking him what they were for and he told us to write them down, that they were the numbers for the lottery. Well, he woke up before he gave them all to us but we thought we would try them and we ended up winning like $150! Now if he falls asleep my mom asks him what the numbers are. Hehehe!

I also had a room mate that rarely said anything but one night i was up reading and she sat right up in bed and looked at me. I looked at her from my bed and said

    me - are you ok?...her - yes

    me - are you awake?....her - I think so

me - you sure?    her - sorry, tigger is in the woods and he wants to fight me. might just have to go back in.

me- (laughing and almost falling out of bed as she dropped her head back on her pillow and started snoring)

In the morning she had no clue as to what i was talking about. The only reason we would have would be we both collected tiggers and one might have fallen on her during the night.

  • I was told that I talk in my sleep occasionally but I have no idea what I've said.  Scary thought!
  • H talks in his sleep all the time. I am a horrible wife because I always talk back. I have even convinced him to buy me things in his sleep. That is pretty much the only time he gets mad about it. The only time i have been really mad about it is when he punched me in the face a couple of weeks ago. No bruise or anything, but it scared me to death.  He ended up not getting back to sleep after it.
  • DH talks in his sleep. I can usually get him to repeat himself or clarify what he said. Last week he sounded super freaked out and was muttering something about polka dots. I still tease him about some of his ramblings.
