Where to get mexican in buffalo?

I have a serious craving for flautas, queso and rice.  Dh isn't a huge fan of Mexican. It was easy to talk him into going when don pablos was still around.  He didn't really like Gramma Moras.  Any suggestions?

  • Come to East Aurora and go to Arriba Tortilla. Its under the viaduct.. I didn't really like Mexican food til I had theirs.. Now I'm hooked.

Other than that.. there's the standards.. Cinco De mayo, and that one on transit across from Eastern Hills.. I think its La Toleca

  • I've never been there, but I've heard good things (from several people) about El Palenque (sp?) On Niagara Falls Blvd near the corner of NFB and Sheridan... (in an old Denny's) From what I heard it's good authentic mexican. I've been wanting to try it, but DH never wants to go!

  • YesYes

to la tolteca...  their margaritas are fabulous, and the food aint bad either- huge menu

el palenque- eh, i wasn't impressed, we only went there once and i ordered quesadillas and i swear they were made with kraft singles.

  • Cinco DeMayo isn't bad- pretty good food, service and reasonably priced.  We also went to Sole in Williamsville over the weekend- they make fresh tableside guacamole!  YUM!  We had chicken/steak burritos....they also had a pretty decent variety of food.  They were pretty pricey though.
  • Grandma Mora's is my fav. La Tolteca on Transit's not bad and then another really good one is one that's in OP...can't think of the name!
