  • Mine is... as I get older I may remove it but for now it helps to explain why I dont have 10 years or more of professional experience since prior to 2004 I only had internships or part-time jobs.
  • Yes and yes.

I include it bc it highlights my decade of experience in my field.  I've had pretty steady jobs along the way...no more than a few months between them.

If I were looking for someone to hire I'd want to see it so I'd know to ask about gaps in schooling and employment.  Ex: A member of my family graduated in 2006 and has yet to hold down a FT job.  That would be a red flag for me as an employer.

  • Yes and yes. It helps for future employers to see I don't have any weird gaps between college and full-time employment, plus I have highlighted the many activities and jobs I held concurrently while in undergrad.

  • I have mine on there as well for many of the reasons listed already.  But according to the board, this is a huge faux pas because people will do the math and discriminate against your age.  I know many employers make it mandatory for online applications and it just seems that if they were going to discriminate against you for age, they could just as easily do it in the interview.

     This.

I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.
