No, I don't want to be your friend

Backstory:  I had a friend from massage school who lived with his ex-girlfriend.  They had a FWB set up, whatever, didn't affect me.  I became really good friends with the ex-girlfriend.  Both of them talked to me a lot about my husband at the time and the problems we were having.  So when he told me he wanted out, she was the one I called and cried to and told me everything would be ok.

She is also the person who was sleeping with my then-husband and 2 weeks after he left called to tell me they were "soul mates" and she just had to tell me she was seeing him.  Shortly thereafter, she turned up pregnant by the roommate (ex had a vas) and they still live together and play happy home.

She repeatedly friend requests me on FB.  No, I don't want to be your friend.  I don't want you to know any details of my life, and I really don't care about the details of yours.  WTF?  I've moved on, and am happier than I ever was married to the Dink, but I don't need that reminder, nor do I need her running to my ex with anything I say.

Re: No, I don't want to be your friend

  • Could you message her that it was nice hearing from her, however, you keep your FB to very close friends and family only?
  • I would not say anything to her and just keep hitting ignore. Or block her!!

I like this idea. At the same time once you start exchanging messages she may respond back asking questions etc. Maybe it would be better to just ignore her message.

  • I forgot about block!  That's a good one!
  • Block her.  No message, no notes. Sounds like you def don't need/want her toxic friendship and by messaging her, she could still get the wrong signal.

    Ditto this!
