Weekend events

Good Monday Morning ladies! I am trying to be chipper, as I am hardly feeling awake & chipper this morning. :)

This weekend DH and FIL installed a new sink & garbage disposal in our kitchen. Our old garbage disposal didn't work so we really needed a new one, but got by without it for a few months. The old sink... I just hated that sink with the fire of a 1000 suns. I don't know why, other than it was just ugly, and no matter what I tried to use to clean it, it never looked clean.

We also tried to take our puppy to the local dog park. Total fail. He is about 5 months, 30 pounds, and he's a Lab/Boxer mix. He's super social - he loves people & dogs, even if he doesn't know them. Well he hated the dog park. We got him there, 3-4 dogs came around him, he cowered in the corner, screaming (yes - screaming, did not know dogs could do that), and he was so scared he peed and pooped himself. It was so sad. I felt like the worst dog parent ever. Of course his commotion made ALL the other dogs come running over, which made the situation worse. I thought he would be ready, but apparently I was dead wrong. I'm hoping he won't be afraid of the dog park forever now.

Tonight I am making this for dinner, and I am ridiculously looking forward to the new CW show - Life Unexpected. They had me when they said it's like Gilmore Girls, lol.

Re: Weekend events

  • Poor little guy :*(.  That's terribly sad.

Those fish sandwiches look yummy.  Sounds a lot like a fish taco.

  • You are too cute!

Aaawww, poor puppy! I hope you have better luck next time with him & the dog park!

I have been working on house things myself this past week. Our AHR is at the end of the month and we are having friends from NC come up to stay with us.

Welp, we had to invest in a spare bed & bedding. Plus I had to clean out the clutter from that room (we've basically been using it as the random room. If it doesn't have a spot, that's the room that the junk goes to). Then I had to get our guest bathroom ready...

at least it's done now, i guess!

  • Our spare bedroom is our "random room" also. Everything random ends up in there. We have a filing cabinet, an old nightstand that doesn't really belong anywhere, miscellaneous clothes that are strewn about (waiting to be donated), and then lots of other just random stuff.
  • 1. I'm coming for dinner.

    2. I will bring my dogs and we can work on getting the pup not so scared he cries and poops and pees.  Was he leashed at the time??  Don't give up on taking him, socializing is sooooo important!!!

    kthanksseeyoutonight.

  • Hehe. See you around 6:30 then? :)

Yeah... I'm not giving up on him, but I think we are going to let him mature a little more. He's still very much a baby, as he's only about 5 months. It's just weird because he plays with my moms dogs, and those dogs are all over 100 lbs! He plays with our other dog, Bella, who is a 7 lb chihuahua. He loves people, even strangers (which, honestly, I'm hoping as an adult he's more protective and less "pet me! pet me!" lol)

I don't know if you go to dog parks often, or what yours are like. Ours have a small area you walk into before you get into the actual park, for purposes of unleashing & to make sure no dogs escape. We let him off the leash in that small area, and when I opened the other gate to go into the park, a few dogs ran in there. I think he felt threatened or something.

  • Thats how our doggie park is, and we go A LOT.  We kept all of our dogs on leash the first time or two to see how they were, and to be able to pull them back if needed.  Because the last thing you want to get caught in the middle of is dog play!!!

Poor guy was probably just so overwhelmed!

  • awww, poor little guy!  it's probably much like the first day at kindergarten..so scared, but little by little, they fit in :)  Maybe next time leave him on the leash to see if he feels little better.

how have i missed hearing about this new show?!

  • chickymel - I don't know? Do you watch any other CW shows? I think they only advertise on CW, and a little online maybe. They (critics or people like that) are saying it's "Gilmore Girls meets Juno". I <3 GG still. Love the reruns and I have been hoping another show would come around that would be similar. I'll give it a try!
  • Aw poor puppy =(  I hope he does better next time.

  • maybe he would like dog beach, and you could keep him on his leash for a little? my dog coco hates dog parks, she just kinds sits by me, and runs around a little, but gets bored for the most part. Dog beach is another story though, shes like a 3rd grader on crack. its awesome.
