sad

I just learned that a friend from HS passed away.  I saw her 2 years ago at our reunion.  She was not ill andI have no idea what happened.  I am so shocked and saddened

Re: sad

  • So sorry to hear that.  It's always so shocking.

  • That's terrible. Unfortunately, I've lost a few friends I've known from high school. So tragic.
  • Thanks ladies.  I just found out that she killed herself so it is truly heartbreaking. I saw her just last year and she was so spunky and full of life. :(
  • Oh how terrible :-(

  • That's terrible! I'm so sorry :(
  • Oh no!!!! My HS crush killed himself three years ago. I was STUNNED. It was all I could think about for awhile there, and I hadn't even spoken to him in several years. I just couldn't understand it when I first found out. Once I started looking through old yearbooks and piecing together my memories, I started to realize that he had always been a depressed individual. I was so saddened by it though. How did he not know how many people cared for him. Maybe if FB had been around back then, he would have felt more connected to people like me that had moved away. I just kept thinking of things I had never had an opportunity to tell him. I immediately started contacting people to finally say the things I had never gotten to say.

I am sorry for your loss and the fact that she didn't realize it would cause a loss!!

  • Thanks MRSG.  I am so sorry to hear about your HS friend.  Sadly, this is the second time I have had to deal with this kind of situation.  I also had a friend kill herself in high school.  She was kind of a loner and people weren't always so nice to her.  She left a note and those unkind words had really gotten her down. It really changed my perspective on things and how I try to treat people. I never wanted to have to go through that again.  I think in this case, something else was wrong.  My friend had over 700 facebook friends.  The outpouring of grief over her loss has been unbelieveable.  I don't think she knew how much she was loved and admired....everyone is absolutely shocked and crushed.
