So I have been trying desperately to get this quilt top done. It's very intricate and I have another one I have to have done in a couple of weeks. I have been getting up with DD at 7:30 in the morning and working on the quilt as much as I can during the day (depending on Scarlett's level of demand that day) then working until usually 10:30 (but it has been known to go until midnight) before collapsing in bed. Last night I finished putting the last 9 patch together and can't do anymore until I get some more fabric. So I started the first square of the new quilt. My sewing machine started acting up so I quit for the night. It was 11:30.
This morning I can't stop coughing and my right shoulder couldn't be more stiff. DH who has been staying up to keep me company (by playing video games) has told me that I am not allowed to work passed 7:30pm for the next couple of days so I can get some sleep. Also he misses me and is getting sick of takeout. It will be over at the end of February and I will be able to relax then. Also if this quilt sells I will be buying a new sewing machine. One that doesn't fight me every step of the way.
Re: my body is crying uncle...
Oh, I've been there. Doing my curtains was awful on my back and shoulder.
Are you on a strict deadline with the quilt? Maybe you can just work on it for a half hour at a time, give your body a break!
