F/U to name change/SIN card q
I asked our assistant to clarify why she had reminded me to change my name on my SIN card.
She said that HR told her that my T4s need to be sent out to the name on my SIN card.
I suppose this would also be true for any T-whatever elses that will be sent to me from my bank... but oddly enough, my bank never mentioned anything about changing my SIN card.
Anyway, the assistant told me that if I change my SIN card, I only need to notify her if I get a new number. If the name changes but not the number, I don't need to do anything further.

My T4 comes in my married name and my SIN card is in my maiden name.
Edit - should I be hiding under my bed in fear that the government is going to get me?
Mine is the same. A year or two ago though I noticed that the CRA started sending me mail in my married name. I wonder if they updated it on their own after getting T4s in a different name. Either way, I've never had a problem.
This one will boggle your mind: My work T4 is in my married name, my SIN is in my married name, but CRA is in my maiden name. It all worked last year
That is the stupid thing. You have to change your name specifically on epass for it to change on your taxes. I don't get why everything isn't linked.
