I took the last pill in my birth control pack yesterday. I went to the pharmacy today to get it refilled and just realized my prescription ran out. I called my GYN to have them fax another prescription, but they never did, even when my pharmacy tried to contact them. I realize this is my own dumb fault, as I should have checked this before. I'm really hoping to get the prescription refilled tomorrow. The normal time I take my pill is between 3 pm and 430/5pm. I probably won't get the prescription filled until 1 pm. Should I still take both pills, even two hours apart? I've never missed a pill, and I hear taking two so close together can cause you to be sick. Also, I know the pamphlet says I don't need a back up birth control, but would you anyway. I'd like to be on the safe side.
Re: What would you do?
No dont take both pills two hours apart, if you read the pamphlet it comes with it always says take next pill next day, unless you miss one take as soon as you remember, then get back on schedule next day.
I would use protection just in case, you dont want to get pregnant, or call pharmacist see what they say for the pills. My guess is not two pills that close together, make you sick.
That's not what it says. It says take one the first day and one the second day (along with the regular pill).
Great idea if you want to get knocked up! lol
Take the missed pill as soon as you get the prescription refilled. Take the next one at your usual time.
I hit post too soon, sorry. I got a little bit nauseated when I had to take two in the same day, but not bad at all.
Thank you:) I will do this tomorrow then.
You can do either...Ive gotten a pack refilled a week late before and I just started it like a regular one and no problems. Just use a condom the following two weeks ensure your hormones are back on track! If you literally only missed one day, then take both pills. Each BC pill is different when it comes to the level of hormones they secrete and what not but I take yasmin and Ive had to do that before and I didnt get sick at all. If youre worried about getting sick from an extra BC pill then definitely dont take the Day after pill or the emergency contraception pill a.k.a. plan B because its the equivalent of taking 6 BC pills at once.
Good Luck!
