Renee & Sarah: probiotics for baby
Which brand do you use? I am a HUGE fan of probiotics and J is headed to Whole Foods tomorrow, so maybe he can pick some up? Also, are you taking supplements for bfing? Aside from your PNV? Just curious. I did get some organic tea that is supposed to be for nursing mothers.
Re: Renee & Sarah: probiotics for baby
Sorry to butt in, we use probiotics as well. We all use Culturelle, SP gets Culturelle for Kids. I could only find the adult version of Culturelle at Whole Foods and it's A LOT cheaper online so we get ours from drugstore.com (it's a Upromise partner so you can also help save for Libby's college fund).
I also used Organic Mother's Milk Tea by Traditional Medicinals that I would get from Whole Foods. There is another brand I tried, I think Yogi, but I didn't like the taste as much as Mother's Milk Tea.
Good luck!
Thanks Nicole! I got the one by Yogi Tea, which is organic and also at Whole Foods:
I have been drinking their Raspberry Leaf tea for the past couple of weeks too. Good stuff!
I'll check out your rec on the the probiotics. When did you start SP on them?

Butting in too. We use Florababy (yellow lid) for Kai and get it at a local store. Whole Foods carries it too, but it is just a little more than the local store. Started Kai on them very early. Maybe when he was a few months old. He was having pooping issues and they really helped.
I take the adult version. Something like 35 billion. Don't bother with the 5 billion-its pointless. Kai's is powdered and mine are pills.
How excited are you getting Lori? Very soon, little Ms Libby will be here
Ditto -- we get ours at Whole foods. I've read that you should switch brands once in a while.
Yes, i take some too....precaution for thrush.
Oh and I think I started Ashton at 6 weeks but I would have started sooner if I'd known about it. Ashton has terrible gas issues that would keep him up crying at night.
Helpful tip---to adminster....I use one of those droppers that I got in the gripe water package. I put the powered in a little bowl and add a dropper full of water to the powder..stir and then give to Ashton. HTH
Married Bio
We just started a few months ago, I wanted to try build up SP's immunity because we couldn't find anyone with the H1N1 vaccine. He's never had a prob being regular but I def saw a difference in the frequency and amount of his BM.
I just remembered to prior to Culturelle, I used Happy Bellies baby cereal w/DHA & probiotics.
Good luck!
We have this and it hard to administer since it is a liquid...it says 5 drops but how are you suppose to get a baby to open wide to put drops into his/her mouth
We found it was hard to give 5 drops too, so now we just use a dropper (like the kind you give the vitamin D with). Elyse had it all over her cheeks the first time
Another down side may be the price, it's $35. How much is the kind you use Renee?
Married Bio
The one I use is about $25 at Whole Foods. I ordered the Bio Gaia directly from their website and I think I paid less than $35. You should check next time you order. I will have to use the dropper like you are using to finish up Bio Gaia. Thanks for the tip!
This is exactly what we use for Bella. We've been using it since she was 10 weeks old and I think it's amazing!
Sorry it took me so long to respond, Bella is sick with bronchiolitis= not good!
