Dyson?

So I am finally thinking about getting a Dyson but am wondering if one model is better than the others.  We do have a dog who sheds a lot if that helps.  TIA!

Re: Dyson?

  • We have two cats and love our Dyson! We have the standard model, the "suction" is the same on all, it is the attachements that make the difference.
  • We have the 'animal', I have nothing to compare it to but it works great... except for the edges near walls... it doesnt get any of that.  I just found out while cleaning base boards, dog hair was all along them, sad.
  • I have a Dyson Animal and love it! I've had it now for about 4 years and only gone to the shop once because my father abused it when replacing carpet with hardwood and using it as a shop vac, the filters go so clogged. But once fixed it was like new again!
  • I have a DC25 (the orange one, not the purple Animal), and I love it. The only difference between the regular one and the animal is the attachment with the rotating head. The animal has that, and the regular one comes with an attachment that doesn't rotate. That is the only reason for the $50ish price difference. I didn't like the bulky attachment, so I got the regular one. Mine has the ball, and gets very close to the walls. Also, there is a switch to turn off the rotating brush on the vacuum which makes it less likely to scratch up wood floors.
