I know it's early but.....V-Day plans?
What are you doing for Valentine's Day for hubby? Do you leave it up to him to plan something?
Do you have a tradition? Do you do nothing because valentines day is WAY overrated and no different than any other day of the year? lol
Re: I know it's early but.....V-Day plans?
No clue!
We either go out for dinner to a nicer restaurant or buy fresh seafood from Whole Foods and make dinner at home. I think this year I'd prefer to go out. We don't go out that much anymore, and you know, sometimes I just want someone to cook for me for a change! DH usually gets me flowers, and I tend to get him something small (or bake something for him) and we exchange cards.
I SO wish that my debt would be paid off by then and we could do a quick weekend away but that sort of thing will just have to wait. We celebrate the day after Valentine's Day because its our "Annetine's" Day. Our anniversary of our first date is the 16th so we do the day inbetween. This is one of the two days of the year that D cooks for me. Not sure what he will have in store but I don't know what I will do for him either.
Since I skipped his b-day and Christmas, I feel like I should do something.....hmmm thinking cap......
I like my V-day cheesey an cheap, like it was in kindergarten. Two years ago, J got a box of SpongeBob Squarepants valentines and hide them all over the apartment. I loved it. Last year he got me a big, drug store heartshaped box of chocolates. I usually get him a card with a funny pun.
Our first kiss anniversary is the night before so we usually go out to dinner for that and avoid the crowds!
Not sure yet. We've set a $25 cap on gifts to each other, but that's as far as we've gotten.
We'll be in RI for BIL's commissioning that weekend, and our return flight doesn't land until 11pm on Feb. 13 with an hour drive home. We'll probably just eat dinner at home unless one of us is motivated to start calling restaurants.
I might try out our new creme brulee set.
We 'plan' on going to a new to us restaurant... maybe NOT on V Day, but that's fine. Maybe I'll do a nice dinner on that day.
LOVE the Spongebob things! DH has a pair of pj's with SB on it. He loves Spongebob... and Fairly Odd Parents...
He's not big into giving cards, though... and I'm a big fan of cards.
Sometimes we go out soemtimes we dont. Last year we both bought each other necklaces, but this year I am going to campaign for no gifts.
We are actually going to have 4 other couples over for Vday dinner! I am pretty excited!
Thanks, Karrey. Me too.
We have never done anything....and by WE I mean HE.
Oh well, someday maybe he'll be romantic.
This! I can't stand the mark up that all the nice restaurants do. So instead of spending a normal amount for dinner it would be $75 - 100 for a three - five course prix fixe dinner plus drinks. Meh. I'd rather just sit at home and order in or cook.
We are kid-free that weekend, and Redneck has training in Wichita the whole week before (which includes his birthday) so I'm guessing we will be,um, celebrating at home??
Maybe we'll have chocolate cake. He likes to take chocolate cake breaks 'cuz his blood sugar drops with all that activity...
Man, I am psycho today!
