I've got a family member that's dealing with some rough stuff (including depression, but not PPD) they've finally admited that its time to talk to someone about it. Does anyone have a recommendation of a therapist or psychologist (sp?) to see. It would be best if they have locations along the top side of 275 or north. If you'd rather e-mail me my e-mail is pryornic@gmail.com or PM me.
TIA!

Re: Therapist Recs?
I have never been to a counselor in this area, so I can not give you a specific recommendation. You are dealing with a lot of variables though: 1) Does this person have insurance? What does their insurance cover? How you answer that may give you a short list of selected places. 2) If they have insurance, do they require a recommendation first? 3) What kind of help are they hoping to get? If they just want to talk, they could go to a mental health counselor. If they think that they may need medication, they would want to go to a psychologist or psychiatrist.
A lot of things to think about. Ask that person those questions & they consider maybe asking their primary physician for recommendations (if that person trusts him or her).
HTH!
I'd take a look at: www.positivepathway.com
I have a few friends who are therapists that work there, who are amazing. I know it's a great practice. They are in Wilmington, Finneytown, and Florence. I'd rather not say their names, but I know the practice is great. I suggest having your friend do research on what type of approach she wants her therapist to have and call them. Your friend doesn't need to choose the first person they meet with, they can shop around for a person they really like.
Thanks for all the great advice ladies! I knew I could count on you guys! I'll forward everything on to my family member and then it'll be in their hands. I'm just sooo glad they're taking the next step to talk to someone.
