My dad is a super early planner when it comes to traveling and is already bugging me about hotels and when to come out for when the baby arrives in Aug.
A little info: my parents live in Indiana, can only take one week off of work, don't want to pay for an airplane ticket in which dates can be changed. My edd is 08/04.
I suggested that they fly out the weekend around the 13th, 14th in case the baby is late. They want to come out around the 1st, but I worry that the baby could be late and they wouldn't have much time to actually see him/her. They are just really excited and want to be here when the baby is born and I understand, but given the circumstances it makes it hard to do so.
So when would you suggest that they come out?
Re: What do you think?
Sarah was 22 days early and gave no indication of it until my water broke. Luckily my mom was headed to the airport to fly home from Phoenix so instead of going to Reno, she came here. My friend had her mom fly out the week before her due date and wound up being 10 days late.
Unless you're going to have a scheduled c-section, I'm not sure there's a way to plan it. If they want to be here for the birth, I'm not sure how they would get around not buying a refundable (changeable) ticket.
Sorry I can't help more! Maybe others will have better ideas?
Hi Robyn!
I was 4 days late and my OB said that on average most first time moms are. I was at a gtg a day before my due date! Atleast if they come later you know they will be spending as much time as they can with you and the baby.
