  I saw this and was thinking how amazing it was that they are still getting aftershocks over a week later!

  Started TTC 11/07 BFP 09/24/08 Miscarriage 09/30/08 First cycle of clomid August 09 Second cycle of clomid September 09 BFP 09/30/09 Miscarriage 10/10/09 Three more rounds of clomid and no success Diagnosed with Unexplained Infertility Abnormal Bleeding for 3 months resulted in D&C but results were normal November 2010 100mg clomid but didn't respond December 2010 forced break for a cyst February 2011 150mg clomid but still no response March 2011 250mg clomid and responded! Ovidrel trigger shot and IUI on March 31 Beta #1 11dpo: 27 Beta #2 15dpo: 85 Beta #3 18dpo 276

  I saw this during the morning newscast like Kristin.  I fear that this wasn't an aftershock... two big earthquakes like that are a sign there's a lot of stress going on there.  I hope that these were just two unrelated one-off events and not a sign of something much bigger.

  I couldn't help but think "Holy cow - basically all of California is in some kind of natural disaster (mudslide concerns, flooding, and something else, I thought) and poor Haiti is completely destroyed and it keeps hitting them!"

  That is some crazy stuff!  I texted it to DH and he said the samething as Paula - it's prob a second quake.  He's on his way to his Earth Sciences class now...he was going to ask the professor about it.

  That's kind of what I was thinking... the "big one" was 7.0 and this "aftershock" was 6.1?  Not that dissimilar - I mean, if a 6.1 hit California, it would be a big deal. That's not like the ones you don't even feel because you're so used to, right? LOL

  I agree, this sounds like another earthquake to me.  I wonder if the distance it travels has anything to do with it being an earthquake versus aftershock.  (this is me juts making stuff up as I go along, I have no idea about earth science anymore)

  It's absolutely horrible.  A reservist who works for us is going over to help out with the relief effort as soon as they have another flight out of her base.

  That's what I said to MH this morning.  Aftershocks don't normally happen a week later.  At least, not one the strength of a normal earthquake.

  It's horrible.  And the sad part is, they are saying that they are expecting another really bad one (worse than this 6.1) to hit the island again.
