where to dispose of fire extinguishers?
It's not used but has expired. Gauge is on ReCharge.
I saw a Toronto Star article that said that they will be implementing a program in the city for them but the article was dated 2008 so assume they have done so by now but can't find specifics.
TIA!
Re: where to dispose of fire extinguishers?
Call the fire department's information line or city waste and recycling department (if you have one).
I know our fire department helps people with disposing of paint and chemicals and you can take the same materials to the landfill and they direct you to a special area. So I'm assuming Toronto is similar and one of those two would know.
They may be able to donate them for you.
They don't expire for a long long time. You should recharge them every year or two. I am not sure where you would get this done for residential extinguishers though.
