ok- validate me!

I *think* we have decided to go with the bigger place and not wait anymore for the smaller one (which I love, but may not be available at all).  The big one is at the very top of our price range, but we won't outgrow it.  We got the landlord to come down another $100, he had previously already come down 300, before we got there.  I think we can get the brokers fee down to 10%.  If we purchase some wardrobes to make up for the lack of closets it should be ok.  I already think I found a cheap used washer dryer.

The little one was beautiful with no brokers fee, but it just felt like waiting for it, to possibly lose this one was too risky.  I just had this image of myself living there, being in the beautiful open kitchen, watching B. play in the living room, but it wasn't perfect either.  B.'s bedroom would have been teensy.  We could still wait 10 m,ore days and hopefully find out about it, but even that date didn't feel certain.

ok enough- validate me please before my head explodes.

  • you did the right thing! i sincerely doubt you'll regret having more space even with having to buy some wardrobes. and having a washer/dryer in your apartment will make your laundry a lot easier.

  • big thumbs up!! Yes I hope it works out in the end...and definitely you have lots of free-standing wardrobe options (at ikea for cheap or other places). and that's great that you were able to negotiate the price down more.

I literally laughed when I read this. I totally agree with Danielle. I think it'll be awesome to have that extra space. And buying wardrobes isn't that bad either; we have one in our bedroom because we don't have that big of a closet there. Go for it!

  • Thanks Ladies.  I am queen of second guessing, especially when large sums of money are involved!  Now to pack and get out of dodge in about two weeks.  hmmm, that should be fun!
  • I say take the larger one. The "we won't outgrow it" is what sold me. You never know what changes might come your way and if you can afford it and have a washer/dryer, I think it will be a good move.
  • More space and a washer/dryer will make your life so much better.  GL with the packing!
