HarwichBride

Hi, I have been lurking on the boards the past couple months since getting married but I haven't posted so I'm sorry if its strange that I am paging you. I just wanted to know what kind of dog you have, he is absolutely beautiful! MH and I have been looking into dog breeds, and I am very interested in finding out about yours. TIA!

Re: HarwichBride

  • No worries! I love to talk about Murray, he's our first born.

He is a goldendoodle. He's 1/2 golden retriever. 1/2 poodle. We got him because my parents got one and we all fell in love with her. My mom and dad have a standard so she is full grown at 65lbs. Ours is a miniature and it doesn't look like he'll be getting over 30lbs. He's almost 11 months.

If you have any other questions let me know I could go on and on about both of them.

  • I was going to ask if he was a goldendoodle, that's what we are leaning towards. He is so beautiful! I love his coloring and his curly fur. We would probably get a miniature as well. Is there a difference in personality between the males and females? Do they do a lot of chewing as puppies, any shedding? Thanks again!
  • They are both awesome dogs. They both love kids, I have 2 nephews and my cousin has a 4 month old and they both are great with them. My nephews are obviously more hands on and both dogs love them.

We have a boy and he honestly doesn't chew anything but his bone or his kong. He also does not destroy his toys. My parents dog has mangled some ugg slippers but no furniture. Both of them love to shred paper, christmas was a riot.

Our dog is more laid back compared to my parents. I did read that the males tend to be that way.

They both have the best personalities though.

  • Also, if you are interested in a breeder recommendation let me know. Ours has been really helpful.
  • Thank you so much, that is good to know. I would love your breeder recommendation. We won't be getting one at this time, but hopefully in the near future. Thanks again, its so nice to hear someone's opinion that has one.
  • I'll send it to you in a private message. You can email her about future litters and that kind of thing.
  • I just wanted to butt in for one second and ask that you consider adopting. I just did a quick search on petfinder.com and there's lots of poodles and poodle mix puppies & younger dogs (and older ones too if your interested!) in the New England area.

Good luck in finding your new family member!

  • Thanks Smal, I will consider that too!
