Recommend your point & shoot camera

Ok i'm in desperate need of a new camera.. Mine is horrible and i really dont like it. It takes forever to even take a pic!

What kinda of camera do you have?

Pros? Cons?

Re: Recommend your point & shoot camera

  • I have a Nikon cool pix....crap, I can't remember which on but I like it and it takes good pics. I wouldn't want a point and shoot if you are thinking about one for the baby, they just don't take pics fast enough to catch what you wanna catch. If you can afford it I would get one of the SLR cameras Big Smile
  • I've got a Cybershot and I love it. Its small and fits nice into the back pocket of my jeans which makes it easy to have whenever I want. It takes good pictures (I think I've got 10 megapixels...). It's got a 3X zoom which is nice. SIL has a newer version with a 5X zoom and I like that better because it (obviously) zooms in further than 3X.

I bought mine when it first came out and spent a couple hundred on it. Not a terrible price, but apparently now you can get one at Sears for $100 (this guy at my work is going to UAE and he just bought one for that price).

This is a good point. While I LOVE my point and shoot for its tiny convenience, it really isn't fast enough. I miss things with my friends because the camera isn't fast enough.

We just got a Nikon D3000 - I call it my fancy pants camera because it has SO many things I don't know what to do with it all (I did just buy the for dummies book for it lol). The quality of pictures are much better than my P&S, but it was about $700 (the package came with the body, 2 lenses, and a bag). It isn't as convenient as my P&S because its a little bulkier, but overall I do really like it

  • HEHE!! I have a fancy pants camera too Carrie!! I love it, nope, not as convenient as the P & S but I'd rather have the better pics in the end!
  • coming in late on this but I love my cannon power shot
