Re-post from ML: Where did you meet your girlfriends?
Who are your best friends and where did you meet them? Are they from HS, college, work, etc?

This is a really good poll because I've been thinking I need some new friends and wondering how to meet them.
My best girl friend is a friend from college. I have another who I met through my ex-boyfriend. Most of my current circle of friends I met through him (we had a pretty amicable split). DH doesn't really have any friends in this city (one friend, and one in San Diego) so we don't get out much.
I'm trying to hook it up with some girls in my grad program but it's hard.

I have 2 good friends from HS still. No one from college. My MOH I met at work.
But as far as who I'm closest to/talk to daily? My "bestie/nesties", sad but true!
Ditto this. Exactly.
Ditto on the bestie nesties.

I'm still close to a few girls from high school, but they live either back in NH or out on the west coast. As for friends in NYC, I've met them in the most random of ways/places, but mostly through other people or on "set ups." I've lived here since college, so whenever a friend-of-a-friend moves to town, I'm always set up with them to show them the ropes.
My bff in in the entire world was my cousin's freshman year college roommate. Random, I know. She came to NYC for an internship not knowing anyone and my cousin set us up for drinks. The rest is history. I literally feel like I met my soul mate that day. She gets me even more than the mister. Downside? My cousin now thinks it is super weird that we're bffs/business partners/she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. Double downside? She moved to LA in August and I'm miserable without her!
I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

Lark, next time I'm in LA (probably March), do you have any interest in hanging? I have a TON of friends in LA (moreso than in NYC actually) and I'd love to introduce you if you're looking for new galpals...

My 2 sisters are my bffs, and one girl i went to HS with - i still consider her a bestie. I am 1 of only 2 people at my company, so my social circle is fairly limited there.
I'm not really skilled at venturing out and making new friends... but i'm hoping to find ways to meet some new people when we move to a different town next month. Might have to find an activity to join
I have 6 girl BFFs and 2 boy BFFs:
-3 I met when I was a bartender at Carrabba's, I worked with two of them and the other one would always come in with her family and then we ended up in a Psychology class together. We could also add one my best guys into this mix. He also worked at Carrabba's with us and was the existing BFF of one of the girls.
-1 from High School. Boy BFF from high school as well.
-2 I met through another job, we were event planners together.
I have met a few other good friends along the way as well, and some of them are my Knot/Nest friends!
and I was totally oblivious to the whole thing because I started that other topic. I will totally come out with you! Pick up accomplished!

I only stay in contact with one girl from High School and she is from Germany. We actually see eachother every year and I'm going to Germany for her wedding this fall!
I have 3 from college that I am really close with.
Another very good friend I met at the bus stop by our house when we both worked down town.

I stay in close contact with 2 friends from high school (twins). We used to be BFF's, and are still very close, but I'm not sure we can be considered besties since we live in different time zones.
I have 3 or 4 other really close girl friends that are scattered around the world. We're very close, but like the previous two, it's hard to be besties living so far away.
Of my current friends, I have several close enough to battle it out for the BFF card: 5 girls, 5 guys. Several of those are couples that we hang with around the clock, most are CrossFit trainers. It's a really genuine environment that you can't really understand without experiencing. It sounds so ridiculously cheesy, but our gym attracts a certain type of person and almost everyone there is best buds.
Those great relationships aside, I don't think any of them know me as well as my bestie nesties!
My two closest BFFs live in different states, but I still think of them as "best" above my closest local girlfriends. I met one when I was six; the other was my college roommate.
There are four other girls I would consider "best" friends -- one I met in college, one in grad school round one, and two in grad school round two.
I talk to my best guy friends from high school on occassion, and that's really about it.
i have 4 really good friends..
My sister.. that one is an obvious
Kayla- I used to go to my granny's house every weekend and she lived a couple houses down, they had a neighborhood fish fry and we both went and played together
Lizzy- We rode the bus together in elementary school, but it wasn't until middle school waiting for our parents to pick us up until we really became friends
Rhiannon- We met in nursing school.. just sat near eachother and had fun together.
I didnt really include these in the count but, I am great friends with my Mama, both of my brothers, and another girl that was a bridesmaid in the wedding I met her because she is (now) engaged to one of davids best friends.. I am close to her just not as close as the other 4 girls!
I'm way late on this one... but of my HS friends there were 8 of us that were really tight. I left for college and everybody else stayed in the same town so they remain really close, but I only really stayed close with 1 of them was in my wedding. I still talk to several others on FB/email and we hang out when I go home.
From college, there are 2 girls out of our group that I consider my best friends. Unfortunately they also live in different states than me and each other. We make a point to see each other a couple times a year and go on a bi-annual vacation trip with SOs - I'm so excited for this year's trip in August.
I met my best friend here while I was in grad school. We became really close and her H and mine have become good buds too so we do a lot of couple things as well.
Other than that, I have a couple good friends at work but they moved our offices around right before Christmas and so that screwed a bunch of stuff up and now we dont get to talk nearly as often. We also go out with some of DH's frat brothers but most of their gf's are a couple years younger than I am because DH was the first one to graduate and sort of grow up. I feel like the rest of them are still where we were a few years ago.
ETA: and my sister... oops - we have become really close but she lives in Texas as well so that sucks. Its really hard having the majority of your best friends spread out all over the U.S.
