random poll: what do you change into when you get home?

For those of you who have to wear traditional "work clothes,"

1) Do you change right away when you get home?
2) Do you change into loungy clothes or right into your PJs?

I pretty much want to get out of my work clothes as soon as I walk into the house.  I often used to change right into my PJs, but then I've had some jobs with long hours and my PJs are often sweatpants and a t-shirt/sweatshirt.  Nowadays I'm more likely to change into loungy clothes, but that's still pretty much sweatpants and the like :)

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: random poll: what do you change into when you get home?

  • I wear regular clothes to work, but I still often change into sweats when I get home.

  • I wear regular clothes (jeans and a shirt) to work, but I'll answer for DH.

He changes right when he gets home into jeans, and sometimes a different shirt depending on what he wore to work.

I don't change until after I shower when I put on my PJs.

  • Ideally I would be changing into gym clothes, but that hasn't been happening lately.

If it's freezing I stay in my work clothes because I can't stand the thought of being even partially undressed for two seconds.  If I'm warm enough, I change into lounge clothes, then PJs later.  I feel like too much of a bum if I get into my PJs right away, even if it means changing from one t shirt to another when it's time for bed.

  • I usually throw on sweats but today I am still in my work clothes

  • I wear dress clothes to work. Unless I have rehearsal I go right home and get undressed almost immediately. Usually it's sweat pants or lounge pants. If I'm too cold to think about changing, I'll take a shower first!

  • 1) Do you change right away when you get home?  YES! I gun it for the bedroom, barely saying hi to H or the pets!
    2) Do you change into loungy clothes or right into your PJs? PJs if I'm alone or with H. If a friend is coming over, I'll get dressed up in sweats. Either way, the bra comes off asap (sorry if that's TMI).
  • I can wear regular clothes to work, but I still dress business casual most days.  On those days I change pretty much right when I get home into sweats.  On days I wear jeans to work, I tend to stay in them until I change into my PJs before bed.

Haha, that's how I'd describe myself too!

Sounds like most of us are all about the comfy clothes (that's what I call them).

  • I generally change into SOMETHING more cozy when I first get home, whether it be jeans or cargos and a comfy shirt, or sweatpants and one of FI's t-shirts.  Unless I get home really late, I don't like changing in to PJs right away because it makes me feel useless and lazy hahaha. I change into PJs after dinner is over and we have cleaned up and are settling in for "quiet time".

  • When I was working in an office...

    1. Yes, except on Fridays, since that was casual so I just changed my shoes, usually. I came home and put on jeans or capris and something more casual on top and walked the dogs right away.

    2. Once I got home, I usually stayed that way but sometimes I put on juicy pants or yoga pants instead.

I do work from home now and do get dressed every morning, but I go to the gym almost every night, so once I get home, I shower, then put on sweat pants, juicy pants, and a tank top.

  • 1 - yes, I change pretty quickly when I get home.

2 - I usually put on a pair of well broken in jeans or sweatpants.  I also tend to go for a t-shirt or sweater ( or sweatshirt if it's really cold).

I save pj's for bedtime because I don't want to walk the dog in public wearing pajama's.

  • Hmmm...I often wear sweats/yoga pants to work!  Ha ha ha.
  • I don't always change, but when I do, I just put on either sweat pants or yoga pants. I typically don't change my shirt.
  • I change when I get home right away.  My job can be stressful, so I have been told it helps you leave your work at work if that makes sense. If I am working out, I change into that.  I usually change into comfy clothes.  If I change into pajamas, I know I have had a bad day!  I'll also change right into pajamas if I get hom over 8 or 9.

  • I barely put my work bag down before I throw on my sweats. I'm obsessed with comfy clothes and sometimes have a hard time putting anything else on!

This is me, too. Or, I'll get into my gym clothes. But I'm all over getting rid of the bra.

Of course this is all moot right now since I am still job hunting.

  • As soon as I'm done greeting the dog I change into sweats. My husband says I'm like superman because I do this so quickly.
  • I usually stay in my work clothes until bedtime (when I switch into pajamas).  My dh always makes fun of me because sometimes I even leave my coat and shoes on.  But our house is cold in the winter!

I often leave my coat on for a while too, sometimes for an hour or more!

  • I usually wear jeans/casual shirt, etc to work, but I change into sweatpants or yoga pants when I get home- usually after dinner, unless my pants are very uncomfortable (my jeans aren't fitting properly lately), then I change out of them asap.
  • I don't wear "traditional" work clothes, I guess (we wear jeans), but I change as soon as I get home into lounge wear which is what I wear to bed too, it's usually a tank, lounge pants and a sweatshirt.
  • I work in healthcare, so we have a pretty casual dress code at the office...it's business casual, but we tend to lean more to the casual side, even wearing scrubs some days...so I rarely change when I get home...I usually do keep my coat on at least until the dog is walked too.  :)

I think H usually changes as soon as he gets home because he wears "smart" clothes to work...
