went skiing for the first time
DH and I went to WV to go skiing for 2 days earlier this week! It was fun, but I fell down a lot. Came home with no serious injuries, except a sore tailbone and a really ugly bruise on my knee.
Re: went skiing for the first time
I prefer tubbing to skiing!
So glad you didnt break anything and happy you had a good time!
NICE! I'm glad you had a great time, but I'm sorry you are sore.
I live across from a ski slope and have never been.
You're my hero.
Sugar.
DH works in a shop at the bottom.
He's offered to take me many times, but he tried to teach me to play tennis once and that was less than successful.
I'm afraid we'd just end up in a fight. But I'm dragging his a$$ ice skating in a few weeks b/c I went cross country skiing with him this year.
actually, we sound a lot like you and your DH- we can't usually participate in athletic activities together b/c we are the same way- totally different abilities and it ends up in an argument. i won't say we didn't get frustrated with each other at times, but when that happened, we would take an hour or so apart, and i would hang out on the bunny slopes and he would go to the bigger ones, we meet back up and it was better. which is why we need more friends besides each other.
so how was XC skiing? that looks like a workout!
Well, the difference in us is that he's athletic and I'm not.
I'm completely uncoordinated and I run because if I can't hurt anyone else while I'm doing it.
XC skiing was actually really fun. I'd go again and DH has already started doing research to buy our own skis. We learned that you have to have fresh powder to do it. The first little bit was alright and then we got uphill a little and the powder had blown off so we were left with snow that had iced over. That wasn't good. I fell down on the ice several times. That sucked.
This is US. DH took me skiing my first (and only) time when we were dating and he was all "you just have to do this" and I couldn't do it right away.
It was frustrating. Not that I didn't like it, I just wasn't superb at it so it wasn't THAT much fun for me.
But congrats, you can now cross that off of things to do before you die!
