Are you perky?

Mamie's poll about bad moods got me thinking... I'm so not a perky person.

Re: Are you perky?

  • I am. 98% of the time. I don't really get in bad moods too often, and when I do, I can usually shake it off pretty easily. I hate being in a bad mood.

I'm also a morning person. Weird, I know!

  • I am definitely not perky. I have my moments when I'm in a particularly good mood and may be perky for a short while, but mostly not. And I'm not all gloom and doom. I'm generally pretty happy, just not perky.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • First I'd like to say I half expected this post to be about bewbies.

Second, No.  I try to be somewhat positive but perky people annoy the hell out of me.  I prefer a much more realistic approach.

  • i wouldnt say perky. i think im generally a pretty positive person, but pretty mellow about it. i do have the occasionally perky moment...

  • The less I know you the perkier I am. My phone voice for strangers would scare you.  On the opposite end of the spectrum, I sometimes grunt at DH instead of speaking.

    Haha... sorry to disappoint.

  • I do not think "perky" would EVER be used to describe me.  I am happy, content, positive, etc., but not perky.
  • pft

I can fake perky pretty easily.  Does that count?

Ditto. And to answer that question, yes I'm very perky.

Otherwise, helltotheno. I'm as sarcastic and self-deprecating as they come. I think a lot of times being perky comes off as saccharin, especially in NYC.

  • Around people I know I would say yes.  I don't usually get in bad moods and if I am, I don't really let it show.

However, around strangers I'm probably considered an emo loner - mainly because around here, strangers insist on smiling at each other and carrying on asinine conversations.  I would do way better in the north.

  • dandy, I think you were a Northern girl in a previous life.

  • I am picturing a girl I describe as perky and I sureashell hope I don't behave like her. But yes, I am a pretty positive person and I like to connect and converse with people. And I laugh a lot. But if there's one thing I'm not, it's fake. So if I'm in a pissy mood, I will be in a pissy mood and won't really care about putting on a perky front :)

  • Not at all.

  • I'm happy go lucky.  I don't really get down to often and just bop along

  • If perky includes being alert and noisy, not really.  I'm more laid back.  But I am sort of a Pollyanna, always looking for the positive in situations, at least in public.  DH and a few select others get to see me when I'm being a downer, but I generally try to keep that private.
  • Yes, I'm very perky. Someone told me recently that I reminded them of Kristen Chenoweth and she is totally perky. I was depressed for a bit and my sister remarked, "It's really sad when you are depressed, though you depressed is like the rest of us on a normal day".
