Cippola...

I just had an idea for your SF trip but it has to do with where I work... can I e-mail you?

Re: Cippola...

  • Oh ya!  Just email me at tkcipolla@yahoo.com.  Thanks!
  • I'm hijacking your post!  sorry!  Kristina - I was looking at your blog and saw you made bread.  I LOVE homemade bread!  I started using the "Artisian Bread in Five Minutes a Day" book which honest to goodness requires so little effort to make absolutely drop dead amazing loaves of bread.  The author teaches at the Cooking Store I work at for my fun job and is just so great.  If you're in love with homemade bread but not the work, check it out sometime!  You make a really wet dough that you store in your fridge for up to 2 weeks.   On baking day, just cut off how much you need and let it rest on your countertop while your oven pre-heats.  throw it in and you're on your way.
  • Oh don't be sorry!  All hijackers welcome! Big Smile  I'll have to check that out!  Thank you!
  • I'm so glad for the hijacking... it reminded me of two things...

    1.  I was going to check out that book months ago and never did.  So thank you for the reminder.

    2.  I get faster every time I make a loaf of bread so don't let the amount of time it took this time discourage you!

  • I love love love homemade bread.  My fave sandwich bread takes forever to make.  Its amazing but you have to let it rise twice, knead, etc.  The Artisian Bread in 5 method is sooo simple.  I have had to tweak the instructions a bit Millie - just a heads up.  It says to bake at 400 but I've had trouble with the center not cooking completely so I've had better luck at closer to 500 degrees.  Let me know if you give it a try and how it comes out!  I'm anxious to bounce ideas off of new people!

I don't have enough time for bread baking right now but I will do my best to remember to let you know once I get that worked back into my schedule!
