Waxing/Shaving

Does anyone NOT wax or shave? I'm far too freaked out to get a wax, and granted I keep things "neat" but I don't regularly shave... anyone else? Just curious, because it seems like everyone waxes it all!

Re: Waxing/Shaving

  • I keep it neat and tidy. Sometimes I shave it all but just as a means to keep it nice. I get razor burn too easily to keep it constantly shaved.

  • Nothing wrong with a little hair as long as it's neat.

  • I don't do either. It's a LOT of upkeep for me due to it being like a jungle. (And that's putting it nicely)
  • I've shaved since High School, but recently DH told me he prefers I don't--he's one of those guys that thinks it looks like a little girl when it's all shaved. Now I keep it meticulously groomer--I have that venus razor with a trimmer on one end and I LOVE it!

  • I shave.

I have always wanted to wax, but I am chicken.

  • Waxing seems too painful & not really in our budget right now.  I shave to keep it neat but not all of it and not all the time because my hair is thick so I get bad razor bumps.  DH doesn't mind.

  • I wax myself. My friends think I'm crazy but honestly, after you do it a few times it doesn't even hurt anymore. I get the Sally Hansen hot wax kits at walmart for $13 and they last for several waxes. It only takes me 20 minutes. To me it is soooo much easier than shaving/trimming ect.

I'm going to hunt that down and use it!!! Sounds good.

  • I also use the razor with the trimmer at the other end. It's a lot easier than regular shaving/waxing. I use to keep things tidy, I refuse to go totally hairless.
  • i for sure shave and keep it tidy! a bush is gross (sorry). i got waxed once and ill never do it again..it hurt like hell! i use the venus razors and i like the smooth shave feeling. DH doesn't like a lot of hair, he even shaves his a lil bit for me =)
  • I go back and forth between shaving most of it off and not shaving but keeping it groomed.  I have found the best thing for razor burn is Tend Skin; if I don't use it I get a lot of ingrown hairs.  It works great!

  • I trim, but I don't shave it bald or wax.

Nature is sooo gross isn't it... Please it's natural and it's normal.

  • I alternate between going bare and shaving most of it down and keeping it tidy.  Mostly because I can't afford to get it waxed (and the idea scares me; I tried one of the at-home kits and thought I was going to die).  I use Coochie Creme to cut down on the ingrown hairs, and it makes my skin really smooth -- I use that stuff on my legs and underarms, too.
When it's all said and done, what matters most is your relationships with other people; without good friends and family, what's the point?

  • Ive tried shaving many times with many different creams and lotions that are supposed to stop irritation...never worked.  I thnk its easier to just keep it very well trimmed
  • I shave it all.  I can't stand not to.  I have waxed in the past, it hurts like hell.  Its not something I do all the time.  Shaving doesn't take a lot of time and it doesn't cost me any money.  DH also trims and stays very tidy.

  • I trim.  I've been waxed a few times (before vacations and our wedding) and shaved when I was in high school, but I always get horrible ingrown hairs.  DH says that he likes it that way, although I'm pretty sure he likes it the few times I go completely bare

Please explain why a bush is gross? it's not like your vag disappears if there's hair there...

  • The whole waxing thing freaks me out, I can just imagine how painful that is! My friend and I were having a smiler conversation before my wedding and she suggested Nair (sensitive area) and it works amazing! Its pain free, super easy and you only have to do it like once a month. :) So thats my product plug for the day lol

Coochie Creme is just about the best invention!! I LOVE that stuff!!

  • i did shaving for years...i will never go back.  waxing is way better, it grows back thinner and less coarse and you can go 4-6 weeks before you have to go back.  (they don't have to wax it all off)
  • Wax!  My skin is so smooth when I get waxed and since I have dark hair, it never shows underneath my skin like when I shave.  I dont get a full Brazilian just an extended bikini wax and after you get it done for a while it doesnt hurt too bad.  Especially if you find a really great esthetician to do it.  I slack off a little bit in the winter but in the summer I like to swim so waxing works best.
  •   Using DH's sideburn or beard trimmer can be an alternative. Depending on the trimmers and if your scruff is straight, curly, coarse or fine. You can find a length that is as short as possible without being itchy or scratchy.

No nice having a wad of fur trying to escape from or bulge your undies or bathing suit.

  • I am one who keeps it hairless. Both hubby and I prefer it that way. : ) I just started getting it sugared---like waxing but I hear it hurts a lot less. I was always too freaked to wax it. But this sugaring was amazing and has lasted about 5 weeks!! A LOT less work than anything else I have tried. It is amazing! Getting ready to get it done here soon before Vday. : )
  • PS- Sugaring is less painful, better for your skin than waxing and even after my first treatment my hair grew back finer and there was a lot less of it. Its not hot or even really warm, does not take off any skin, so one area can be gone over a couple times to get hairs that may not have come up the first time. Lot's to love about it. : )  Look it up its amazing.
  • I actually had laser hair removal for that area....everything but a little patch.  I had to check around to find a place that wasn't crazy expensive but found a place that wasn't too bad.  I would get really bad ingrown hairs and razor burn.  Now it's always smooth.  And it didn't really hurt either.  I want to get it done on my legs some time!
  • i HATE waxing/shaving!! so does my fiance! of course i keep it neat.

there is a new razor that is the "schick quattro trimstyle" that has an end that is pretty much aimed for this specific delima.
