Re: anyone on yaz

  • I was on yaz for a year. really short and light periods but it made me crazy. I already have extreme emotions but yaz intensified those emotions ten fold. it was not good for me
  • I am not postpartum, but I just went off of Yaz after my wedding in November. I can't tell you what a night and day difference it made. I was a complete b*tch with horrible mood swings. I also got very bad headaches that I never really associated with BC until closer to the wedding (and didn't want to risk the chance of going off of it and getting AF on the honeymoon).

I feel like a new person now. I would never go back on it... ever.

  • yaz was bad for me too.... i didn't stay on it very long because it made me extremely moody. i won't get back on it... plus it was so expensive!
  • I had wonderful experiences with Yaz! It helped me to regulate my PMDD. My doctor did take me off of it because of the recall concerns.
  • I was on it 3 differnt times. It made my mood much better. But, it wacked out my periods. One month my period was late and lasted round 2 days. Very next month it came 3 days early and last around 7 days. this happened every time. it's horrible. Yasmin is much better!

  • I actually just got off of Yaz. I had really good experiences with it also. I only stopped taking it because I want to do the Mirena instead.
  • I'm not experiencing postpartum, but I just got off yaz three months ago and am soooooo glad I did.  It was making me super emotional and actually gave me migraines before my period, which is really ironic because that is one of the reasons I started taking birth control 8 years ago.  I was only on Yaz for three years, but it definitely messed with me.  It also almost completely took away my sex drive.  Since I have been off of it, I haven't had a single migraine, I'm much more stable emotionally and am MUCH more excited about sex.  I know this isn't everyone's reaction to yaz, but i'm for sure better with out it. Hope that helps.
  • Hi - I have been on Yaz for 2 years now and absolutely love it.  I do not get my periods anymore, etc.  However, I have not experienced Postpardum as I do not have any kids.  But I do have to agree with others... I think it makes me really emotional sometimes.

  • Don't use Yaz... There is no generic, so that means you're paying full price. I requested it at one point and my doctor didn't tell me that. When I went to the pharmacy to pick it up, the pharmacist told me I shouldn't get it. He said Yaz had done a great job of advertising, but that the reality is that based on your needs, you can get birth control with different levels of hormones that are genaric and do a better job than Yaz. I get both cramps and acne, so he suggested a genaric that's been working great. I've been on it for almost a year now and the cramps haven't been as bad and the acne has cleared for the most part. The best part is I'm not paying full price for a brand.
