thoughts and prayers please
My BIL is leaving in the morning for Haiti. After 9-11, he joined some disaster team... he went to new orleans etc. He got the call today that he's being sent out tomorrow for a minimum of 2 weeks.
I'm alittle nervous. Only cause of this press conference I saw yesterday. These 2 girls ran an orphanage down there and happened to be there when it all happened. The whole city of pgh was working to get them and their 50 some kids back here to pittsburgh. They all made it here this week..kids all checked into the childrens hospital and most are already adopted. But they were saying how crazy its getting.. people are getting extremely hungry so they were hanging around outside the shelter they were in cause they saw CNN etc there. they thought THEY had food because of this. And saying how they were hearing gunshots and everything. And today, the news is saying how people going to help have to watch about bringing sickness/diseases back home.
Obviously, thoughts and prayers for EVERYONE down there. But just alittle extra one for him please? I know my sister and those kids will be a nervous wreck till he gets back.
thanks!

Re: thoughts and prayers please
Yupyup, well my only sister. There's just the two of us.
What a hero. I am sure you are so proud of him! Definite thoughts and prayers for him. I saw the coverage of the Pittsburgh hospital and cried like a baby. It was very emotional to see those parents united with their children.
I'll keep him in my thoughts.
One of my close friends has a husband who's been there for 2 weeks. He works for LAFD urban search and rescue. As far as we know he feels really safe since he's rolling with the Marines. He may be coming back in about a week. I understand your concern. We've been worried too. I hope your sister and kids can stay strong for him.
