Ok y'all, time to spill the beans!

715inNC is right that we're talking about "old" nesties. We just don't share as much as we used to.

So post and tell us something we don't already know about you. Lurkers too.

Re: Ok y'all, time to spill the beans!

  • I just realized that this post title sounds like a pregnancy announcement or something.

    I'm not pregnant. Sorry.

  • I thought you were PG!  I was like NO WAY!

  • What dont you know about me.  I am a pretty open book and I think you girls know everything.  Except my bra size.

  • I was obsessed with NY for years. Between the ages of 7 and 15 I would tell people I was born there... even though I was born in Miami. Embarrassed

  • My best friend and I got married two weeks apart. Talk about wedding stress.
  • I grew up thinking I was a picky eater. Then I got married and started planning menus & realized I was picky because my mother was picky.

  • I consider myself very lucky to have a diverse group of people that I'm close with who could be considered disabled and some who live lifestyles not "normal" to others.

My father has a very bad stutter, it occasionally takes him 20 minutes to have a normal five minute conversation. I have an autistic brother who is considered low functioning, my cousin is gay (recently married), my other brother is a Pagan (by religion), my mother practices Buddhism / Mysticism and my father is a borderline Orthodox Jew (and serious Zionist). My gandmother on my mom's side is a devout Catholic.

I really feel that knowing all these great people has taught me to be accepting of almost everyone and everything.

  • I've been in the worst mood for the past two weeks. A co-worker commented on it yesterday and another one commented on it today. I'm not sure what my problem is, but I can't snap out of it. I just want to go home, have a pity party, and eat some chocolate.
  • I don't vacuum. DH does it.
  • In addition to my "small" obession with the Hulkster growing up, I also ate McDonalds a lot.  As in, every day for breakfast from the time I was about 5 until I was a junior in high school.  Even on vacation most days, and the few days a year I'd miss breakfast, we'd do either lunch or dinner.  And I'd eat the same thing day in and day out.  Normally, I was a super-morning person--I'd walk into school all happy and cheery.  The day my dad and I decided to stop going I walked into school crying--that was when we discovered the McD's had changed from a make-fresh pancake batter to a pre-made batter.  My friends all though my cat had died or something and laughed when I told them why I was crying.  Of course (they said) only someone that's eaten the same thing for 11 years would taste the difference!!  (I may have already shared this before, but I'm not sure)

Also, my mom is a total Liberal and my dad is a staunch Conservative.  Hence, my "third party" political lean--you have to find some middle ground when you are an only child!!

I don't even know what to say to this. Wow!

No, but I totally know how I'm going to announce when I am. It's the planner in me. I like to think ahead.

  • I dont like cobblers or pies with fruit baked in them.  For some reason it just grosses me out.  I dont like cooked fruit.
    image Me Squeshia.
  • I'm obsessed with finding the perfect/best (insert anything you're thinking about buying) & getting the absolute best deal for it. e.g. Running shoes - I must pick the right ones: I pore over article after article on how they're made, how long they last, etc. I learn about different types of running shoes & why certain people need these shoes & not those. I look at ratings & reviews, price compare, & search for coupons. Makeup? Same way. Jewelry, electronics, appliances...vacations too. Prettymuch anything & everything that costs money.

I actually enjoy memorizing poetry & prose. I used to memorize Shakespeare passages for fun.

I also have the uncanny ability to look at a cartload of groceries & estimate the total bill within $5.

Your turn. I must learn more about The Squeesh. Support my addiction for gathering random knowledge!!!

  • My most recent traumatizing experience was this weekend when my parents visited. We (mom, dad, brother, DH, & I) were sitting around watching one  of those house flip shows.  One of the finished houses had flat screen tv's in several rooms and DH commented how nice they were. My mom was like "You know, I heard that couples who have TV's in their room have 30% less sex". We were all just like Indifferent

I thought you were announcing something big too!

  • I have spent a ridiculous amount of time thinking about and researching kitty litter storage. Right now we have an entire room baby gated off so the dog can't get to the kitty litter and eat it. That would be fine, but it's the same room that our gym equipment is in and we can't use the gym equipment b/c the cats won't use the kitty litter box while we are working out. So, our biggest bedroom (aside from the master) is basically unusable and we're getting to be fatasses. Finally, we made a kitty litter box enclosure out of an outdoor storage unit. We cut a hole in the side of it. So now we are going to have this outdoor storage unit in our upstairs hallway:

    We. Are. Ridiculous.

my husband does this as well - for EVERYTHING.  registering was literally a ridiculous nightmare for me because he had to figure out what the best everything was first.  It drives me nutty - haha.

  • oh and something about me - I clean alll the time.  My house is never neat enough for me.  DH says its one of my best qualities.  haha
  • ROFL!!!!

(Gah, I always forget to hit "quote")  This was in response to Terp's story about sex and the tv in the bedroom.

  • - I moved from NJ to TN after high school to go to college there because of a boy I had met... online. didnt work out, long story. Indifferent  No one in my family knows this (the reason I went to that school, that is)

     - Before moving to Charlotte, I thought it was this ultra Southern, slow city where everyone had accents. When I got here, my reaction was priceless Wink

    - I met DH while in grad school at UNCC.

    - I love making lists and writing everything down. I'm a VERY visual person, and hate talking on the phone. My brain processes things in front of my eyes much better.

     - I hate to drive. Everyone else always p!sses me off. Lol.

  • -When I was 19 I was baptized into the Latter Day Saint religion for the guys I was dating (and the day after my baptism, engaged to).  We broke up less than a year later.  For many reasons I have very strong negative opinions of the religion (no offense to anyone, nothing personal)

-My last ex before DH is now deceased (by no doing of mine!)

-I hate wearing shoes and socks

-I think Raleigh is a HUGE city (and it is compared to where I am from)

-I don't feel safe where we live

-I buy jeans that specifically make my butt look nice (IMO anyways)

  • I collect postcards. I have some of them fairly organized, but a lot of them are just in a box.

I have a hard time donating old clothes if they still fit. I feel bad, like I am saying the shirt is not good enough or there is something wrong with it. I am also afraid I will need/want the item once I have gotten rid of it. I force myself to go through my closet and get rid of things, but I know I could be better about this.

  • Best. Post. Ever.

34C...ok, B sometimes C...my boobs shrank about 5 years ago when I lost 35+/- pounds just by walking/reducing the amount of food I ate. I'm constantly paranoid of gaining the weight back, it's been 5 years but it feels like yesterday

We got a video camera for christmas and now that I can hear my voice I realize i've developed a southern accent, don't hate me, but I am really upset about this...my heritage is 100% PA Dutch and I used to pride myself on the fact that this made me different than everyone else I know, with the southern accent...it's not really that affective

Derky - why don't we just go to mcdonalds for our GTG?

Shoe -  I was super excited when I thought you were announcing you were pregnant, so...now I feel like you need to go get to work on that ;)

Also, i have a confession, I'm on the laptop in the bathroom typing this (Yikes!)

  • Also, Terp....that storage thing looks ridiculously big, do you have a kitty or a tiger?

    Hahahahahahaha. You make me laugh.

But lately I've been playing the name game with DH. If I do it too often he gets weird and makes me stop. He's been playing along well, but he's hard to please. We're going to have a hell of a time picking a name when we actually do have a kid.

  • 38DDD Indifferent

I hate, hate, hate celery and also dislike cooked carrots.

Omg, are you a Virgo?!? I look up random things that pop into my head...even before the internet. I always used the encyclopedia and know really random useless things. Bc of this my DH thinks I always "state things as fact about topics I know nothing about". But really I do know about them. It drives him nuts. He tells me I "correct" him just to pick a fight but it's that he's actually wrong! I just bite my tongue now.

I was obsessed with Shakespeare and Chaucer since forever and could recite entire monologues by memory. Lol, that's so funny. I do the same thing with song lyrics.

    :-)
