LO slept 8 hours straight last night!

Re: LO slept 8 hours straight last night!

  • there must have been something in the air b/c mine did too!! :) yay for sleep

(actually, she was kept up all day and didn't nap as much as usual b/c we had a visitor... so I doubt she'll keep it up...but I'm still thankful for the regular 5-6 hrs I typically get now!)

  • Yayyyyy! That is a GREAT feeling :)
  • Okay ladies...what's your secret?!?!?

I think we just got lucky!  Last night he did 3.5 and then another 4.  But I think he does like the cosleeper and having his own space.  I didn't expect it to continue, but I was thankful for that chunk of sleep for myself!

Bathtime is tonight, and he usually sleeps better then (but not always - I wish I could find a good pattern).  We'll see, but I'm hopeful to get another 5-6 tonight.

I'm not sure to be honest... I think some babies just sleep better than others, to be honest. last night A slept another 7 hrs straight...and she probably would have slept another 8 hr stretch but I had to wake her up b/c I woke up from the pain in my boobs from engorgement! this used to happen when she first started sleeping 5-6 hrs so I'm hoping my body will adjust soon and then we can all get some good sleep!  I do believe that having her sleep in her crib from the first night home from the hospital has helped...as does making sure there is a good balance between awake time and naps throughout the day.... I don't let her go more than 3 hrs between meals b/c the pedi said that will help her sleep better...and I also cluster feed her every 2 hrs in the evening starting around 6-7pm until she goes down for the night around 11-12 (yeah, she goes to bed late like her mommy!) on the nights where she doesn't cluster feed in the evening, it is hit or miss as to whether she'll STTN. it's a pain to have her basically attached to the boob after dinner but it's worth it (IMO) to get the uninterrupted sleep.
