*Tina - re diaper bag for double strollers*
How funny you should mention this, because I found one online about 2 days ago! This is the one I'm thinking of buying: Skip Hop Duo Double. I've read reviews of other double bags, but this is the only one I can find that gets consistently good reviews.
$78USD from Amazon.com (not sure if they will ship this to Oz or not), and here in Australia, thinktwins.com.au has them for $179AUD. There's also an ebay seller who has them for about $140AUD (inc shipping to Australia).
Re: *Tina - re diaper bag for double strollers*
Ohhh thank you!
I've bookmarked it for a time when we can afford it lol! Can't believe how expensive diaper bags are!
The one I did have was a hand me down from my sister. It had a pattern on it that wasn't exactly trendy or flash looking (it was like blue and white little diamond shapes or something) but I used it every day! My sister was like "I didn't think you'd use it as it's so daggy-looking lol"
Function over fashion baybay lol!
Ugh, tell me about it! I nearly had a heart attack at the USA price, let alone the Aussie one lol.
And I'm with you on the function over fashion thing...especially if you're getting something for free! I'll take damn near anything for these kids if I don't have to pay for it lol.
Oh! I nearly forgot, I have a question for you. I've noticed that in the States (at least if the Bump is anything to go by lol), most people seem to use special baby detergent when doing laundry. I have NEVER seen anything like that here - there's Napisan, but that's really just a cleaning booster, not an actual detergent.
Do Aussies just use regular detergent (maybe something unscented?).
just wanted to butt in real quick here - the worry is that your babies have extra sensitive skin and require detergents that have the fewest chemicals/enzymes/brighteners etc. we decided we'd just use what we're using and if she starts getting rashes from her clothes then we'd switch...so far no problems. some kids are just more sensitive than others but we figured if there wasn't a problem, why fix it? same goes for CDs - we use Tide HE and haven't had any issues with stink like some do with those natural or eco-friendly detergents (in fact, a lot of CD mamas have stink issues and try everything to strip their diapers and nothing works until they try Tide...just FYI)

This is basically the approach that I was thinking of taking, but everyone recommends special detergent so frequently, I thought maybe there was some really bad reason that I shouldn't use the regular stuff! I mean, if it's just a mild rash or something I can deal with that - if it was going to poison them or something, then I'd want to avoid it, but otherwise I think I'll just go with the regular stuff and change if there's a problem. We don't have Tide here, unfortunately.
I don't use a special detergent hon. I'd say your best bet is to go with a low allergenic one though.
Maya has got dermetitis on her legs and arm and I've been using a combination of the Moogoo body wash and a prescription cortizone cream (1%) to treat it.
I am about to switch to these detergents:

Safeway stocks them, so if you have a local Safeway, see if they have this line.
Oh and I found that cold water does zip to get rid of food/spit-up stains on baby stuff (on their bibs etc). It was only when I use hotter water do I get the clothes completely clean.
Ooooh I'd like to try these! We don't have a Safeway here though.
Tell me about it! We have Wooly's, Aldi, Target, BigW and Coles. And a couple chemists (all of which, I think, are local and not chains). Plus various clothing shops, of course - some of which are chains, some of which aren't. But the population here is under 30k, so really it's not surprising!
