This!
from me, too!
Thanks! I am so happy for you and your new job! Well deserved. And parent-free!
J's start date actually got postponed until next week (we think). His new Co. needs to get their ducks in a row with the HR stuff.
We're putting in offers on both of the houses we saw today. They are both great and we can't decide. We're hoping the bidding will decide for us.
Cascade: http://www.mrmlsmatrix.com/Matrix/Public/Portal.aspx?ID=7435106856 4 brdms 1999 sqft
Cascade is HUGE. The 1st floor layout doesn't make much sense for us. We don't know what we'd do with a formal living room and formal dining room. The back yard is small, but the front entry patio is nice. The tile is lovely but cold. There are yippy dogs in all the houses around it (and our yippy dogs are bark-starters). The kitchen needs some work. They painted the wood cabinets in a wood color and it looks cheap. But the counters are pretty stone tile. There is a nice wide overlook into the formal sitting room from the second floor. There are 4 bedrooms and they are all big. The master bath is enormous. Lots of light. Decent views. It's bank owned... so it's AS-IS. That being said, it's in good condition. New paint (white) and carpet and tile.
Mirasol: http://www.redfin.com/CA/Corona/1216-Mirasol-Ln-92879/home/4617017 3 bdrms 1407 sq ft
This one is not as big as the other one, but it has a very workable layout. It feels warmer and homier. I like the double front doors. The landing is a good size and leads right to a bathroom. The front tile is black "marble" and so is the fireplace surround... not our favorite. It has big picture windows. The carpeting and paint (mocha) are fresh. The downstairs is like a great room, but the kitchen is behind a wall. The back yard is quite large. It has a couple of tiers for landscaping and a big concrete slab patio. The upstairs is nice. The master has pergo flooring and a big bathroom. It also has french doors leading to a romantic square balcony/deck. The views are nice from here, too. It needs new grass, but that is about all it needs. The laundry room is upstairs, which is brilliant. The bedrooms are a bit smaller, but big enough. There's this awesome storage space under the landing that goes on forever. And there were two Chinese Terracotta Warriors in the back yard (weird and cool)!
Both houses need fridges, washers and dryers and blinds or curtains. We like both homes. Cascade is so big! Mirasol is impressive and more finished. We're bidding 260 for both.
Good luck in your search in Murrieta. I am so jealous. We'd like to live down there and be closer to friends (and get a really pretty house)!
What a bummer about J's start date getting pushed back! Hope he gets to start next week!
Those houses are both great, I really like the second one! Hopefully one will accept your offer! We are so anxious to buy a house right now. We're focusing this year on building up our savings some more and paying down our debt and getting our credit in better shape. We've at least figured out what kind of house we would like, our realistic budget, and the area we'd like to live in too! We drove around Temecula and Murrieta last weekend and we LOVE it down there even more after seeing a couple of houses we found on RedFin. Good luck to you guys, I really hope you get the house you're looking for! Let us know as soon as you hear something!
