My first shower is this weekend. Help me.
Question 1: Do I need to get cutesy thank you cards or can I just use the ones with me and MH's initials on it that I used for our wedding? Or should I order some with just my initials on them?
Question 2: What should I get for a hostess gift?
And go...
Re: Baby Shower ??'s
I used leftovers from the wedding as thank you cards. Card doesn't matter, just matters that you send them!
I didn't give a hostess gift. Nobody I know IRL has ever done that. I thanked them for hosting though, of course.
Thank Yous don't matter! Just the fact of sending one is all that matters!
Hostess gift..hrm..maybe a little gift basket of bath stuff? I'd hit up Bath and Body works.

Where are you having your shower? I only had one, and it was at my brother's house in Denham. It was nice, we had a lot of people. One of the sucky things (one of many!) about living far away though is transporting everything back!! My friend Morgan took a lot of it home with her in her car, but then she went out of town for a few days so I couldn't look at my fun new baby stuff for a little while
my aunt's threw me one of my showers and i gave each of them a small Circle E candle (courtesy of my DH shop who sells them) in the scent of baby powder. and since it was right before Christmas, I added an initial ornament with it and a sweet thank you card, which made them all cry.
i also gave a candle to my MIL who gave me a shower.
my work shower was given by way too many people, so they all got a big thank you from me.
When I got married I did bottles of wine, coffee GC's, pedicure GC's, etc. Just depending on who it was and what they liked. My aunt is hosting the one this weekend. She loves candles so that's a good idea. She also loves wine so I might take the easy route and grab a bottle.
The one this weekend is mostly family so it's in Lafayette. I know I have at least one friend from BR coming so I'm hoping if I can't fit the stuff in my car, she'll help me out. My next one is in about a month and is at my house so I don't have to worry about hauling stuff then. I'm very excited!
I will be buying new TY Cards, only because I got married three years ago, and my stock of TY cards is now gone. Otherwise, I would be using wedding TY cards.
I was thinking about getting something Vera Bradley for my hostesses, both of the girls really like Vera Bradley stuff, so I think it will be a nice gesture.
I'll have to count my cards to make sure I have enough. I might have to order more but that's ok. I like to keep that in stock anyway. I guess I'll just continue to get the ones with our married monogram; although I do like the idea of my own.
