I won the bid on some chairs that have to be refinished!
Any before/after pics?...or refinishing advice? I've always painted the furniture vs. staining, but I think I'm going to stain the chairs... ($40 for 4!) and also purchased fabric for the seat part...
Here are my before pics (just picked them up yesterday):

and I've a ton of work to do w them!
Re: **Agent**(hutch)
Nice score!!!!!!!!
I actually JUST started working on them yesterday because its been so cold and rainy here.
If you are going to stain them, get like a 120 sand paper and a 220. Just do a light sanding...going with the grain of the wood. Then wipe everything down.
I use Minwax stains. They are easy to work with, just becareful and wear gloves, that stuff stains and is hard to get off skin!
If you are just going to paint them, use like a 180 and then a 220 to sand. Get paint with primer in it alrady, that will take less steps
I use Behr paint & primer in one. They can match any color.
So last night I sanded the buffet portion of the hutch. I got my first coat of stain on the top, and then my first coat of black paint on the bottom portion! I cant wait to get the second coat on tonight!!
The D&R board is waaaaay helpful if you have any advanced questions I cant answer
Thanks! I know... I'm excited to try to redo the seat cushions-although the green is 'pretty' to someone... I found a great neutral tan/gold. I also want to see what tools we have at the house before I buy up sand paper and metal brushes, etc... the legs have some lovely crevices.
GL to getting the stains out!
(I hate cleaning my hands after painting/staining---got some heavy duty gloves for this job!)
