Sooo.....

Since its so quiet around here, how was everyone's weekend?  Do anything exciting?

DH and I got our preapproval for our home loan.  YAY!now we can seriously start looking :-)

Re: Sooo.....

  • I was just thinking its too quiet here!! That's awesome that you got your preapproval! Now the fun begins Big Smile

I spent all weekend stripping paint from our kitchen cabinets, sanding, priming and painting and I'm only about 1/4 of the way done and I've been at this for a month. My kitchen is a disaster and I'll be so glad when everything is put away and I gain my sanity back.

  • My weekend was good! We took our puppy to his first dog obedience training class. It was mostly a lot of explanation & talking for the first session, but I really feel like this trainer knows his stuff and as long as we work with Nova at home he should do well. We had a sort-of-bbq at my parents house. DH smoked some ribs & I made cole slaw (from my FIL's awesome recipe). Everyone loved the food, so it was a success! I think we are finally ready to start tackling some of the home improvement projects that we never started/finished last year, so that's what we'll be doing next weekend. Oh! I also saw The Lovely Bones and I liked it. It was good, not great. I've only read the first chapter of the book and I could already name a dozen differences between it & the movie, but that's typical of all movies based on books.

Tracy - Congrats girl!!! House hunting & finding & buying was one of the most stressful & FUN (mostly fun!) times of my life. I loved it, and looking back I put a lot of unnecessary added stress on myself. Just keep a level head about it and make it fun! I loved going to see the houses and imagining ourselves there, how we would decorate, etc.

  • ...Oh I forgot to mention that I had the most AMAZING cupcake over the weekend from Crumbs Bakery out of Nyc.  My bff was up there and brought me one back. To.Die.For.

I didn't think the movie was that good either.  I read the book a few years ago and loved it, but they changed a lot in the movie that left me really disappointed.

  • Congrats Tracy!

I'm already looking forward to this weekend, because I'm going to make chocolate covered heart brownies :).

  • Awesome news, Tracy!

This weekend we finally hung our black out curtains we got for Christmas woohoo!  Our room gets super bright in the mornings and I can never ever sleep in on the weekends b/c of this so I'm pretty excited.  Saturday was my half brothers 5th birthday party.

Oh yeah yesterday while DH was studying I finally watched Twilight.  One of my bff let me borrow one of her copies (she has multiple.)  My verdict: I didn't hate it.  But watching it once is enough for me.  There was a little too much of googly eyed staring and teenage angst for my liking.  And I got a little peeved at Bella because she was so trusting of Edward.  I feel like it was making woman appear dumb and naive.  Just my two sense.

  • YAY Tracy!!  That is super exciting.

I finished my six day stretch this past weekend, so now I am off until Thursday, but by off I mean I go into work on my three days off for a bit.  DH is letting me go see baby stuff tomorrow, so I am exicted :)

  • congrats on the loan!

My weekend was good - my dad is visiting so we had crabcakes Saturday night, and drove up to Philly and explored yesterday (I had never been). Today I'm back at work and my dad is somewhere in DC enjoying the gorgeous weather!!

I didn't hate it, I didn't like it either.  But I completely agree with this.

We went out with some friends on Friday night.  For tapas and sangria, I obs didn't partake in the sangria but I am not a fan of sangria either, so I didn't miss too much.

Saturday we came home and took a nap in the middle of the day, watched a movie.  We basically did a whole lot of nothing.

Yesterday we went shopping for some necessities and I made cookies for TImm's lunches for the week.  We also did some shopping for the baby shower that's at the end of next month.

Other than that, it was a very low key weekend.  Which was very welcomed!

  • Congrats Tracy!  Happy house hunting!

Nothing too exciting.........went out for dinner with a girlfriend on Friday night and then just came back to my house and hung out for awhile.  Saturday we went to the Psychic Expo and then did some shopping.  Sunday, stayed home and cleaned the house, made a huge batch of spagetti sauce, baked a homemade coconut cream pie and then had my sister over for dinner and a movie.  My parents stopped over late in the evening as well after arriving home from Punta Cana.  Just trying to keep myself busy so I don't keep dwelling on how much I miss John.

  • We did a whole lot of nothing this weekend. I didn't even make it out of my pjs yesterday... It was nice.

Tracy- Congrats and good luck with the house hunting!

  • Yay Tracy!

I had to go into work on Saturday and then we went to a surprise party.  Sunday we had a few friends over for beer and football.  I hate 1 day weekends!

  • My weekend was mostly good. We picked out blinds for the house and hardware for the bathroom. I can't believe our house will be finished on Thursday! The not so good part of my weekend was that I've been in pain/cramping since Friday. I have a doc appt. for tomorrow to find out what's going on.

Tracy-Congrats on the preapproval! I have to say this whole process has been mostly fun for me. Happy house hunting!

  • Nope...did absolutely NOTHING on Saturday...I didn't even get dressed until dinner time.  Sunday = my normal day at the shelter.  The weather front has been messing with the cats though...my 3 are non stop fighting and one of my friends at the shelter got scratched by 3 different cats yesterday and I got bit.  All 4 of those cats are regulars and normally very nice.  That was the extent to my weekend.

    Congrats on your pre-approval!
