Your opinion Tacky or Not
So I got an invite to a baby shower, for someone I don't know all that well. Friends but not super close. Standard Invite- location, date, time etc. Well then there was an insert saying "Feel free to bring your favorite dessert or appetizer that you like to make"
I've been to plenty of parties where you bring a dish, but I find it odd to be invited to a shower where you bring something. It just struck as very odd. In my opinion if you are hosting a shower, you take care of things like that.
Re: Your opinion Tacky or Not
in some party cases i think its ok, but not for a shower.
That's me too. Most parties I go to we bring a dish of some sort. I just find it odd for the shower.
Agreed. Usually if it is a gift giving event, the food is provided.
Also, it seems like this is a distant friend. If you were a very close friend, I would say what is the big deal, but the fact that this goes out to ALL guests seems slightly tacky to me.
This!
Tritto!
Ditto this. If I know the hostess well I'd probably offer to bring something anyway, but I think it's weird to have it right there on the invite like that.
