Give me some ideas on what to bake or cook next... I don't really have anything exciting coming up to bake for now that holiday parties are over so I need some excuses to bake new stuff.
Re: Since you're bored...
I've got a good one!
I need recipies for items I can prepare ahead of time (like, on Saturday/Sunday) and save for lunch throughout the week. I've got a couple of good ones for chili, but I'm already getting sick of it.

Haha... I actually really want to re-do some of the early posts - my pictures still aren't good but they are a lot better than they used to be.

I keep chickening out too -- I need to just try it, if I fail, I fail.

Best thing that I do on a regular basis... make chicken/pork/turkey on the weekend and then shred the leftovers for dishes during the week. That way I always have stuff on hand for paninis, salads, taco night, pizza, etc. I'll try to think of some other good ones. There are lots of good freezer meals -- lasagna, stuffed shells, enchiladas, etc. that you can make ahead and freeze and then just pop in the oven too.
Also just noticed that your post said lunch and not dinner... I mostly do salads, sandwiches, or leftovers for lunch but I'll try to come up with some other options for you too.

I've got some ideas for Valentines Day treats... I'm planning on doing at least 1 type of cookie and probably 2 cupcakes as well.

I've been wanting to try this recipe, but haven't yet because I don't own a candy thermometer and because it calls for a few specialty ingredients. I'd hate to buy a thermometer just to try out a recipe that isn't any good. Though, since you have a candy thermometer, perhaps you could try it out and let me know if it rocks or sucks!

ive always wanted to try making a souffle or molten cake.
also tiramisu.
I will absolutely make these... they sounds fantastic and if they are good they can potentially replace my peanut brittle since its a little boring in my holiday baking routine.

Todd and i are going to be out of town for Valentine's Day with friends I think so I'm going to make us a fancy dinner 2 weeks before (since the superbowl is the week before) so I'll post it in a couple weeks.

The only souffle I've ever tried was several years ago and a complete fail... i should try again.

5 years later....ditto the molten lava cake. DH has been begging me to make him one and I'm thinking I'll try it for Valentine's day.
BTW--Irish car bomb cupcakes were big winners! (I managed to buy a single bottle of Guinness at the store so we didn't end up with leftover beer we don't drink).
