So, yesterday, one of my pastors at my church pulled me aside to talk to me about weddings.
His daughter is my age and is more than likely about to get engaged, so he's trying to figure out how much he and his wife would like to give her when the time comes.
Though they have money, they're putting her and her brother in private colleges, thus a huge chunk of their money gets tied up in that.
He said, "I mean, I just don't know if I have $20,000 to give to a wedding. I mean, that's at least how much yours cost, right?"
No lie, that made me feel good. We spent right at $10,000 on our wedding.
When I told him how much we actually spent he says, "Really?! I never would have thought that a wedding that nice would have cost so little."
He's a guy with a good taste, too. Their house is jaw-dropping, and while they don't spend a whole lot on clothes and even in home-furnishings, you can tell by the house ALONE that they know quality.
What are some compliments that just made you feel proud?

Re: Getting compliments.
My DH's aunt pulled me aside and said my dress was the most beautiful dress she had ever seen. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside
Lots of people said it was the most fun wedding they'd ever been to. We even had people crash our wedding because they wanted to join in. That in itself was a compliment I guess. lol.
Wow, Jess, that's a huge compliment.
I had a lot of little details that meant a lot to me, and my H. I didn't know if other people would notice them. But, when I run in to people now, they tell me how wonderful all of the little details were. It was nice that people actually noticed...
Everyone also tells us how much fun they had, and it was so nice to attend a relaxed wedding. They also tell us that they have never attended a wedding that seemed to have so much meaning.
It's great to hear the compliments...
We're married!!! 12-12-09
