Sometimes Moms are so cute!
My mom was just so stinkin' cute last night I just had to share. So I'm 30 - I've had my own house for 4 years and rented for another 2 years before that. Its been a while since my college days when I'd "pack" to come home by throwing all my dirty clothes into bins and bring them home to wash for free. Last night - hubby and I stopped in because our laundry tub drain is completely clogged (I think it swallowed a sock or something - regardless, the plumber is working away at it as I'm typing this) and so we can't use our washer and I desperately needed a couple pairs of work pants washed since I was pretty much down to nothing left. My mom did my laundry and was EXCITED about it! She said it made her feel needed. :-P Never in a million years would I guess that my mom would get excited about doing my laundry. I'm sure 20 years ago, she wasn't that thrilled.

That IS cute! You'll have to remind her of that if she ever complains.
My mom sent me a text message (she's hearing impaired so talking on the phone is difficult) last night because our wedding announcement was in Sunday's paper in my home town and she was excited about it. We've had a strained relationship, but every now and then she gets all motherly on me and I love it! Yesterday she asked if she could be the first person I call whenever I find out I'm having a baby (because I called her first when we got engaged and it meant the world to her). My twin sister also wanted that honor, but when I told her how much Mom wanted it, she caved. What a great sis I have!
I rambled. My bad.
Aww - Your mom sounds like she has cute moments too. Try to remember those when things aren't going so hot.
Ugh - our plumber left the drain disconnected. I had to call the shop back and tell them that leaving it like that was completely unacceptable. Bottom line of it is that we may have to bust out our old concrete utility sink to put in a new one so we may be at my folks again to do wash at least one more time. I called my mom with the update (she wanted to know what happened) and she told me to stop feeling guilty about using their washing machine and that they like having us over. Note to self - go visit more often!

I love it when my three siblings and I descend on my parents' house at the holidays, and my mom has a full house again. (Fuller than it was when she raised us, with her son in laws, daughter in law and grandchildren!) You can just see how much she loves playing Mom to all of us, even though we're 27-40 years old.
Also cute is my dad. He was in a kick for a while where when he heard that I was coming home from school (college) for the weekend, or coming up from Chicago after I graduated, he would bake the BEST oatmeal cookies in the world. He's had a couple surgeries lately, which has stopped this tradition for the time being. But I always felt all warm and fuzzy when he did that for me.
