Chelmsford Book Group?

Hi,

My husband and I just bought our first house in Chelmsford and would love to meet new people.  I was thinking of joining a book club nearby.  Does anyone know of a group that meets up after work or on the weekends in or around Chelmsford?  Also, it would be awesome if the group was on the younger side.  I am 25 and would love to meet people in the same stage of life.

Thanks!

Re: Chelmsford Book Group?

  • Hi!  I also live in Chelmsford.  I don't know of any book groups though.  I know there is a knitting group, and a mothers group.  Maybe check at the library or Java Room?  They may have some more information.  My husband and I actually don't really know anyone in the area either...all of our neighbors are older.
  • Sorry I can't help with the book club, but DH and I are moving to the area and Chelmsford is one of the towns that the realtor suggested for us. Do you like it there?? Can you tell me what you like about it (or what you don't)??

Sorry to be nosy, but moving is such a difficult thing when you don't know the area AT ALL. I'd love to have some input from others.

  • I don't know of a book group, but we live in Chelmsford (bought our house almost 2 years ago) and we're always looking for new couples to meet in the area!  We're also your age (I'm 24, DH is 25).  There are quite a few ladies on this board who live in the area.  We try to get together every now and then for dinner (just the girls) - you should come next time we do one!

Suzie - we really like the area, it's super accessible to 495 and Rt 3 (and even 93 and 95/128).  We're close to a lot of shopping (Nashua NH for tax free shopping, and there's tons of other shopping around).  Boston is only 30-40 minutes away depending on where you're going.  The schools are good and the town is safe.

  • I'm not sure about a book group either, but there is a town facebook page so that might help.  I also recommend hitting up the library.  I've heard from a friend that they do book groups, but haven't checked it out for myself.

We've lived in Chelmsford for 3 years and LOVE it.  Great location, great schools, great community!
