Good timing... This post should answer the question that came up in the below thread about who to send Birth Announcements to!
Well... We sent one to the White House. It's not a job thing. I wanted to get a card from the White House for Alexa's baby book!
And we just got a nice card in the mail today!
It says: "Congratulations on the birth of your new baby. As parents, we know the profound joy you must feel as you welcome a child into your family. We are delighted for you, and we wish you all the best on this wonderful occasion. Sincerely, Barack Obama / Michelle Obama (signed)."
Yay! So excited! In case you want one.... I sent to...

Re: BR: Just got a card from the WHITE HOUSE!
that is exciting! I saw your post earlier & I looked it up. I did that for my wedding & it took about 6 months, but we recently received our card from the Obamas!
I will definitely have to remember to send them a baby announcement!

so neat! I was planning to do this, so thanks for posting that it worked!
My mom was over the moon excited when she got a holiday card from the white house (b/c she is a Tribal leader and had just went to the President's meeting the month before) so I know she will love to see a baby congrats card.
COOL! I'm adding them to my list! Maybe I'll also include a photo of baby in the tank I got from my friend in DC that says "First Lady" on it.
That is VERY cool!
I wonder if they'd send a card to Australia lol...

I so want one from President Obama. I wonder if he likes his northern neighbours
What did you say in your request? How long did it take?
