Dog Boarding?

Does anyone have a good place where they board their dog in the Mt. Laurel area?  I'm looking for a place that is really going to care for him - we had a bad experience with one of those chain places with a previous dog so this time around we are being super picky.

Thanks!

Re: Dog Boarding?

  • It's not in the Mt. Laurel area but it is right off 295. My sister boards her blood hound at the Pet Smart in Lawnside. It's very nice and the dog loves it there. I usually pick her up so I have seen it. Very clean the people are soo nice. She has used them at least 3 times that I have picked the dog up from. It's not really near her either but it's worth the 30 minute drive for peace of mind. They have a really good reputation, GL

  • We boarded our two shih tzu's at Best Friends on Route 73 in Cinnaminson and had no complaints. (Not sure if this is where you had a bad experience or not)

Since we have moved, we have them groomed at Barney's Kennel and Grooming in Westhampton and have seen their boarding facilities and will be boarding them there in May because the people are very nice and the entire place is so clean. It's doesn't even have that "dog smell" that other places have. I don't anticipate any issues boarding there either.

D&J - is there a Pet Hotel in that Petsmart?

  • We have used Lakeside Kennel and Cattery for the past few years.  Clean and our dogs never had a problem except for one time in which our lab came home with a cough (even though we vaccinated for bordatella, but it cleared up on own without a vet visit).  They have play time and the staff is nice.  My only concern is that they are located right off of Rt. 70 and I always fear (irrational, I know) that they might get loose and run on to 70!  But no problems, pretty pricey...we are actually looking for a new kennel b/c we moved to Deptford and Voorhees is a drive for us.
  • i used to use best friends, but now i just have a dog sitter come to the house.  it saves time and sometimes money if i am getting home late at night or leaving early in the mornign

They just put a Petshotel in the new Petsmart on rt 70 in Marlton (or is it Cherry Hill? I get confused by the towns down here).   We are using it in 2 weeks when we go to Florida, so I will have more info about it then!

I believe that is Marlton. I know it's a chain type place but we've used that one and they are great. We've also sent Moxie to Doggie Day Camp there and the staff is great. When we'd see them on our way to training classes they would come say hello to her, ask how she was and ask when she was coming back. So even though it's not a local place, I still felt there was a lot of personal service.

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz
