My insurance company has denied any future visits.
I'm not giving up. I have other options. But I'm really upset. I feel like I'm going to in pain forever.
Re: No more PT
That sucks. I really despise some insurance companies and the crap they pull.
I was going to ask this. Otherwise I would be in my dr's. office every week until the insurance finally got sick of paying for that and sent me back to therapy.
Insurance blows. WTH are we paying for?!?
I hope you're able to find some workaround in the meantime. I'd try to force the issue with my insurance company or at least try to get the doctor's office to advocate on your behalf.
It looks like I can try to appeal. The problem is that takes forever and I was trying to go once a week so I could check in with my PT and make sure I'm on track. I do the exercises and stretches at home and at the gym everyday, but checking with her and getting her guidance was really helpful. I have horrible muscle tension in my lower back and hips and she has some massage techniques that help. If I wait too long between visits, we basically have to reassess everything the next time I come in.
I've had a feeling this was coming. My other idea is there is a trainer at my gym who's also a PT. I think I'm going to see how much she charges for session and go to her once or twice a month. That may be helpful since she can tell me how to use the gym equipment and help me find the best work out for my condition.
I'm feeling a little better today. My best friend called me (she's in South Korea right now so it's a big deal). We chatted and she offered to help finanically if I need it. It's stupid, but part of what upset me is the letter was worded in a way that made me feel like the insurance company was giving up on me. That I'm a lost cause. I know that's stupid, it's a flipping d-bag insurance company, but it hurt. I'm already scared.
That's the ridiculous thing. They'd rather pay for surgery (which according to my bill cost over $60,000) than a few PT sessions. So much for preventative care.
I'm going to call my PT first and see if she can resubmit for a different body part. If that doesn't work, I'll call my doctor or his NP and see if they can help.
