Lovebug Update!
There's progress! Little, but I'll take it. I'm 1 cm dilated, 50% effaced. Nonetheless, we've scheduled an induction for Thursday morning.
The ultrasound went well, he looks good and big! Very active, the guesstimate for weight is 8 lb 9 oz (yikes!!)
Please keep sending your vibes so he gets the show started before Thursday morning!
Job update: The interviewer dialed the wrong number when trying to call DH's boss for a reference. But DH is definitely a candidate and he'll call back to set up an interview. (YAY!!). Please keep those job vibes coming too!

This is a dumb question - but why do people do inductions? Like, what would happen if you just waited it out and the baby came whenever? Sorry to sound like an idiot but I've always wanted to ask about it since I'm so clueless and I know you gals won't judge.
I could be totally off on this, but I *think* it's because the longer past 41 weeks or so the amniotic fluid levels can drop and the chance for stillbirth rises.

Twink: that's it exactly. I think he's stll doing well with amniotic fluid and he shouldn't have problems going to 41 weeks, but he's big! Basically it was Thursday or Sunday (or being delivered by another random doctor, which DH is completely against). We chose Thursday based on size. And, honestly, we like the date better
and DH didn't want to wait.
Rachel: No sweeping, but I will request it if at all possible. My cervix is still way up there, he could barely reach it... Most likely it'll all start with prostangladins to soften my cervix.
