Cascade Counter Offer

Sew......

Cascade had multiple offers and came back to all the offers and said give us your best/highest that you are willing to give.  Ugh.  We can say that we did give our best/highest.  Our max was 250 and we went to 260 because of Jason's job. Gotta decide if we want to go higher.  Every 1000 increase is a $6 morgage increase.

I'm still hoping for Mirasol!  Wish us luck!  It is a smaller house, so our offer may be more appropriate - but in this market, I feel like everything will just slip through our fingers.

The Drama Continues...

Re: Cascade Counter Offer

  • Oh shoot!  Well I still have hope that this will work out.  One way or another.
  • I feel as though fate will lead you in the direction of the house you're meant to have.  And I feel as though you'll be happy there :)

  • Also figure in that your taxes will increase when the house is reassessed and a PMI if you don't have the 20% down payment.

Code is right. Resist the temptation to stretch yourself too thin.

When do you think you'll hear back from Mirasol?

  • We should hear back anytime between now and early next week.

  • Your right to be conservative.  Although our property taxes have gone down in the last few years, they can be brutal normally.  Don't get too bummed . . . you'll be home owners soon!

  • dagnabbit! I hope you get some good news soon!
  • Move to PHX!!! You can get two nice sized houses for that amount!!!

Good luck lady! Everything will happen the way it is supposed to be! House hunting is a very frustrating and tideous process.

  • You will find the perfect house for you! What is meant to happen will.
  • Ok, J and I discussed it.  We can't decide what to do without knowing the types of offers others are making.  Then I talked to my realtor who said that we should stay with our current offer if we like Mirasol better.  So, we submitted the same offer.
  • I think thats a good plan... When DH and I were looking, its almost like the seller is testing you.

Our house was up for sale for 120K. We originally offered 105 + pay our closing costs = pay for first year of home warranty

They came back with 115 no warranty.

We countered at 112, WITH the warranty and closing costs. AND GOT IT!

I think sometimes they just want to see how high or how much yo are willing to budge. We werent willing to budge much. In the height of the realestate craze someone bought our house for 220K...so I have faith that we will earn equity some day...most likely will not get that high agin. but yeah :)

Zillow.com was one of my BFF's while house hunting. You can see how much the current owner bought the hosue for. What other houses in the area are selling for...etc

  • I love Zillow.  And Redfin.  Redfin has links to Zillow and other sites.  Realtor.com is only good for finding out the Great School scores, but it also tells you the wrong schools.  Zillow tells you the right schools.
