PCP/TTC/ATP Wednesday

What's new ladies?

This my personal NBR QOTD - as a moderator I can now make sticky posts and annoucements at the top of the board.  Some of the other Bump boards have used this to post their TTC stories or something like a guideline to newbies.  On the LGBT parenting board we've seem to get newbie questions like 'what books should I read?' or 'where do I get sperm?' (yes I'm simplifying).  Would anyone like me to create a sticky post at the top of the page?  Mrs._F can list all of the wonderful books she reccommends and wouldn't have to type it out each time someone asks.  We can all post our journeys to parenthood.  CT & Duchess can put in their two cents on fostering/adoption, etc, etc. Let me know what you think....

Okay - now someone else needs to come up with the real QOTD :-)

  • I like the idea of an FAQ post at the top.  I probably wouldn't post my "story" - the idea of lurkers kinda freaks me out (lol) and I feel like announcing all of our info at the top is a little too "out there" - I don't know if that makes any sense.

But I really like the idea of an FAQ - maybe we could post "What does LGBT mean" as #1 LOL, and then resources for just starting out.

    Good idea, Two!

  • The FAQ is a great idea!

Nothing new on the baby front for us, it's just sitting on the back burner without a flame under it.  I think we may put some tax money aside for the TTC fund though.

  • Okay - I'll draft up some FAQ stuff and ask for input sometime next week.

As far as my update, I'd say things are going well.  I posted a mini stress out on the LGBT board earlier.  Physically things are definitely changing.  The baby is laying head down with it's back to my right.  My right side is feeling the stretch.  My last blood work showed pregnancy induced anemia which explains why I've been so dang tired.  So I'm on extra iron now and the doc said my energy should be back in no time.  Still though, I can't complain.  This pregnancy has been soooo good to me and I've loved all of it (even the pains)!

  • Well E has a cough right now.  We are going to take her in tomorrow morning.  She is a little wheezy tooSad  She is still feeling pretty good so I am hoping things are ok.  We just want to make sure.  I am trying not to freak out but it still is a little unnerving.

On development news Ella was sitting up on her own last night for a few minutes at a time. We got some pics and will post when I get home.  Also she is rolling from back to belly.  Well we have yet to see her do it but she was on her back and S left the room for a second and came back to her on her tummy.  She actually did it 4 more times this morning and S missed it everytime.  How we don't quite know!  I hope she does it when I get home tonight.  I have seen her go belly to back but she still doesn't do it all the time yet.  Fun Fun.

I like the FAQ and wouldn't mind putting our story up if we decide to do that.

  • Not much of an update from me.  Henry's beating me up on a regular basis, and seems to like leaning towards my right.  Gets pretty uncomfortable sometimes - I can't imagine how I'm going to feel a month or two from now!  I'm getting super hungry.  Needing lots of food and rest.  Can't believe he's going to be here so soon!!  We start our birthing class in about a week and a half, and have our cloth diapering workshop a couple weeks after that.  Oh, and we're still in the middle of buying that house, lol.  I so want to move and start some serious nesting!

    So exciting! Good luck!!!

Not too much new here... yesterday was 36weeks, so I'm officially "allowed" to go into labor now! Yipes! We also picked our pediatrician, which was our last big item to do before she arrives. We have a few items to pick up, but I guess technically we are pretty much ready.  ::gulp::  Indifferent

Otherwise she is head down (though still high) and feeling like a healthy size. I got swabbed for GBS and will get my results next week. I'm feeling sore, packed full of baby, but good otherwise. I think that is all to report...

    So, now we wait!!

  • Oh, and we just finished our last birth class last night (which we really enjoyed), and have our breastfeeding class next week. Hopefully I'll come back with lots of good tips.

  • We're just plugging along with the kids.  As i mentioned yesterday, bio mom missed the visit monday so that means it'll be three weeks (or more) until the kids see her.  that baffles me. but, in some ways its also kinda nice, which is probably horrible for me to say.

Rosebud also has a cough, but that doesn't stop her from being her happy, smiley self.  I think she's going to start rolling any day now.  We also had our first school "incident" with Sprout...he pushed a boy at school.  But, i don't blame him completely because it was on monday (missed visit day) and the boy pushed him first.  Of course we still spoke to him about it, but at least it can be tied to something, not just out of the blue.

  • I love reading all of these updates - such an exciting time for many of you! Once your kids reach a certain age, one week isn't much different from the one before or the one after! Wink
