Just for fun...

Whats the worst wedding gift you got?

Ours was probably a tie between a signature plate we got *after* the wedding (what are we supposed to do with it now???) and really tacky embroidered towels with little pom poms on them.

Re: Just for fun...

  • We got a really ugly crystal candy dish thing.

    I'm pretty sure it was a re-gift.

Whatever, y'all. I work for the church. I'll just put in a phone call to my good buddy

  • From a shower, MIL went to the Asian market(Hubby is Japanese, she is not) and bought random crap. So I got pretty chopsticks, a plate scraper, and a tool for cooking shellfish. Which I'm allergic to.

Our Wedding gifts were all great, actually (Because it was mostly money. ;) )

  • Hmmm we were actually very fortunate in that almost everyone bought gifts off our registry or gave us cash/gift cards.

One gift that wasn't awful but just a weird combo was our friend who bought us 2 wash cloths, but each was a different color. We did have 2 different color towel sets (2 each of bath sheet, hand towel and wash cloth) on our registry, but I assumed people would buy the matching sets. Nope. He bought one cream and one navy, and then also gave us a cocktail shaker, haha.

This wasn't from my registry but on one of my friend's I noticed someone had bought a Bump It (it wasn't requested, just added). I'm hoping it was a joke.

  • We got a Jim Shore nativity scene that I promptly returned.   I love christmas stuff, but this was very loud colors and was just NOT our style.

  • I just got that you said someone bought a Bump It!  That's HILARIOUS!!!

I have a student who is always wearing a bumpit and it has sort of become a joke at work.  One day I IM'ed a co-worker telling her that the bump-it was even larger than usual.  Not long after that I heard the girl saying "With these boots on and my tall bump-it, i'm WAY taller than my boyfriend."  I just about died!

  • We got a gift today.

It was a HIDEOUS photo album. The box was all beaten up and it wasn't anything.

If was from one of DH's coworkers that also just got married.

    I genuinely think it was a re-gift.

  • Oh yes, speaking of nativity sets...

MIL gave us a "Childrens Nativity Set" from Sam's club (it said Sam's club on the box. Classy.) for Chirstmas.  I am not pregnant, nor do I plan on having a use for any such nativity set for a while. I gave it to goodwill.

  • Okay WAY off topic here, but your "i'm not pregnant" made me think.   Tonight we were watching something on television where a mom found out she was pregnant again and was happy.  My 8 year old exclaims, "Well, when I grow up and get pregnant, I won't be happy about it.  I'll be too worried about my tummy getting all big and my butthole burning all the time, you know...because that's where the baby comes out."

     I ALMOST DIED.

  • Hahaha Tori, thank you for sharing that. I'm gonna be laughing all day now! Big Smile
